We supplied all the material and the cost was labor only. The work was subcontracted out to different people in two parts. End product was good.

I hired Evergreen Contractors in 2008 to replace the vinyl siding and asphalt roof on my residential home.  They did a very good job and all looked and worked well.  This past year my skylight developed leaks.  I filed a claim with my insurance company for repairs.  When my insurance company inspected the roof, they told me that the flat portion of my roof had been done incorrectly, and that a "rubber roof" should have been installed.  I notified Evergreen Contractors of what the insurance company said, and Evergreen agreed to install a rubber roof on my house at minimal cost (materials only, no cost for labor) even though the 5 year workmanship warranty period had passed.  By law Evergreen Contractors did not have to replace my roof, but did so anyway.  I was impressed by their honesty and integrity.  When the workers arrived, they were polite and courteous.  They worked with me on scheduling and did a great job of installing the new roof.  They cleaned up after themselves very well and removed all of the old asphalt shingles, nails, and debris.
I am very impressed with Evergreen Contractors, and would highly recommend them for honesty, fairness in price, and quality of workmanship.

The technician was better than punctual.  Evergreen was the company that first installed the aluminum capping on the exterior wood surfaces of my home, so I knew they knew what they were doing.

They were prompt, professional and did a great job on our house. They even worked after it snowed.. just pushed snow off room and kept on going. I haven't a single complaint and there were the best deal after calling in 12 contractors!

He called once to delay appointment.  I called him back and he could not remember me.  I finally got an appointment made and when he showed up two hours later I called him to cancel and he was at my door.  Instead of telling him what I want done, he started telling me what he was going to do.  When I made suggestions on what I wanted done  he said there would be an extra process in what I wanted.  In the end I never received the estimate or a call back from him.  I ended up not using him.

It was poor and unsatisfactory work. They did deceptive contracting and management practices were deceptive. The sub-contractors did not follow the contract. There were errors in the design by the architect. They abandoned the project after receiving a lot of money. They need to higher professionals who know what they are doing. It was very difficult.

They haven't done really great. I didn't like that they kept saying that they were rotten plywood under but then they didn't make me see it. So, I didn't know if they really rotten or not. They were gouging me. When I asked about it, they were already gone. I didn't like them. I would not use this provider again in the future.

Chris was my estimator. He was on time, took his time measuring, and gave me the estimate on the spot. At the time he gave me the estimate for the roof and gable vents, I didn't have the money for the entire job. I asked him if he would just install the gable vents and he said he would for $450. At the time I didn't know if I would ever be able to afford the roof and I told Chris that, but he sent a guy out anyway for this very small job and did right by me. I was impressed with his professionalism and kindness.
I had used Evergreen over ten years ago to put vinyl covering over the upper stories of the house so we would not have to paint. It held up very well, and I was comfortable having Evergreen come back out to tackle the big job of putting a new roof on the house.
The crew showed up on time and began to tear the roof off. I have a big fish pond and was very worried about debris getting into the pond. The crew covered the pond and also laid big tarps everywhere to catch the old roofing materials as they removed them. The work proceeded quickly, and the crew kept the site as clean as they could. They loaded their truck with the debris and hauled it off periodically through the first day.
Now, I'm a Realtor, so I've seen a lot of roofing jobs out there. I've seen roofing jobs where there was a real mess left behind, including nails, trash and sharp objects, but NOT THESE GUYS. They had this really cool thing -- a big long magnet on wheels that they pushed all around the job site to get all the sharp nails and debris up. I have found a couple of nails since the job was finished, but not anywhere near what I've seen on other sites with other contractors…. AND, the pond stayed safe! They kept the fish pond covered until the very end so I was assured that there would be no nails or debris falling into the pond. I was so thankful for their care.
One more thing: I was super-concerned about the plywood under the old shingles. My old roof was 25 years old and I was very worried that I would have to have a large amount of plywood replaced. The crew did a detailed inspection of the plywood, and I didn't have a single damp spot on the plywood. A company with less scruples could have taken advantage of me, but these guys were honest and I was so grateful that I didn't have to bear the burden of additional money being shelled out for plywood.
The roof was put on the next day by a different crew (same crew boss though -- a very nice gentleman who supervised the entire job from start to finish). The guys worked all day and got almost the entire job done, but had to come back for a couple of hours the next day to finish the top of my bay window. They replaced the roof on the main house, the roof over our screened porch, the roof over the potting shed, and the roof over the bay window. The roofers worked efficiently and got the new roof done, while the crew boss kept things moving on the ground. The workers themselves were very nice, professional, and respectful.
One caveat: when there is a roof being torn off and a new roof going on -- there is a TON of banging and noise. Of course it goes with the territory, but I wish I had planned to work outside of the home for more hours during the two full days of the job. That's my fault for not thinking ahead. Hopefully you can learn from my mistake. :)
Overall, I have been thoroughly pleased with Evergreen Conractors. I will use them again when I move to my next house. Thank you EVERGREEN!!!

The company is absolutely unprofessional. They use unlicensed sub-contractors to save costs who are not knowledgable. The project manager is very unprofessional and unresponsive. In the end, we found that the sub-contractor was potentially stealing from us and to minimize impacts to our house in terms of damages caused, we threatened to sue and settled with witholding portion of the money so we could hire another contractor. There are still ongoing structural issues that we are continuing to deal with even a year after the work was done.

I hired Evergreen to complete a dual remodel project for my full size upper level bathrooms in my single family home. From Start to Finish, the quality of work and service I received was outstanding. I am extremely satisfied with both bathrooms. They look beautiful due in part to the Project Managers incredible Design Vendor Program which allowed me to sit with professional designers inclusive of the contract and choose my material elements with ease. I informed Scott my project manager that the work far exceeded my expectations for overall value and quality. This was a complete remodel with all new material and fixtures and the final result was impeccable. The crew foreman was punctual, diligent and communicated every detail to me to ensure I was involved with the ongoing and finishing details of my new custom bathrooms.

Evergreen Contractors' bathroom renovation
program is a great opportunity for homeowners who don't want to hire an
interior designer but want to be involved, assisted by design and building
professionals, in designing their own home renovation. The project manager
arranged extensive two hour meetings with in-house designers at three suppliers
for bathroom fixtures, cabinets and counters and tile work. The job cost for
labor was separated from the cost of fixtures and materials so that one could
determine what fit in to the overall budget. The install team was professional
and quick to solve any issues that arose during construction.

The project is still in progress. This was a big project, build a new bedroom over the garage, move and expand two bathrooms, move laundry room upstairs, finish garage. Signed the contract in early June 13. Construction began mid July.

i have pulled my previous comments for revision, pending completion of the project.

Provider did take photos and measurements of both bathrooms and stated that the front bathroom would run around $6,000.00 and take 8 to 10 days to complete. As far as the master bath went he stated that he would need to go back to the office to configure the cost; that it would definitely be more than the front bathroom and would take a little longer to complete because I wanted to convert the tub into a walk-in shower. The provider said that he would e-mail me estimates for both projects. It is now June 10, 2013 and I have yet to receive the estimates. I assume they are not interested in doing the work so I'm now interviewing other companies.

The insurance covered it, I know we had a $2000 deductible but part of it was the carpet so I can't remember how much was included their portions. I think the service was fine. They did a few extra things that I asked them to do that were beyond the repair needs, that there were some things around the corner from the damage that the water had done, you know my boys had put a hole through the wall or whatever that we kind of patched that they went ahead and painted this small additional portion, you know and charging for that. They were thorough and I think they were okay, there is a gap between the sink and the wall and I think that really shouldn't be there that I looked up later. I can't think of anything at that time, they haven't tried to change it so I think they responded to what we told them and changed the sink out and went and bought, they didn't realize they were changing the sink so they have to go buy the thing that we picked out and showed them what to get and everything. They seem to respond well to that.

The crew that performed the roofing replacement was excellent. I have a pretty big roof and there were 7 or 8 people working on it and completed the roof in less than two days. The only complaint I have is everything that took place prior to having the crew come on-site. Evergreen came in as one of the lowest quotes and I had used them before to install aluminum trim and they did a great job. So I decided to go with Evergreen again. The salesman I dealt with made a number of promises and failed to follow through on just about every one. He was supposed to bring samples of the colors I was interested in the day after I signed the contract and I didn't see any samples for a few weeks. I repeatedly called him back and he kept apologizing and promising to drop off the samples.
Then I get a call from him and he tells me he underestimated the cost by $5000 and they cannot do the job and were willing to return my deposit. That was not acceptable to me so I contacted the owner (Chris) and he tells me his guy miscalculated the roofing due to the fact he used a satellite photo to come up with the area but didn't realize I had a high pitched roof. He also offered to refund my money. After much discussion, we agreed to split the difference ($2500). I went home that day and the roofing materials were already at my house.
As stated earlier, the crew did an excellent job. However, they ended up having a lot of extra shingles that they didn't use. I counted 22 bundles stacked up in the driveway. Nevertheless, I was charged the additional $2500. I discussed this with Chris afterward and he says they only took back 13 bundles. He says the original estimate was for 4700 sq. ft. They apparently delivered 6500 sq. ft of roofing and took back about 300 - 400 sq. ft. I should note that two other reputable roofers quoted for 4700 sq ft and 5100 sq ft, respectively, and they actually came to my house and measured. I ended up not bothering with pushing this any further as I figured I wasn't going to get anything back at this point.
Overall, I would say the quality of the work was excellent, but the management of the whole project was less than professional. I would use them again only because the quality of work is more important to me than anything else and I know they can deliver. Next time I will work directly with Chris (I must say that he specifically told me to call him directly in the future so thats a positive) and make sure that everything is properly quoted and carried out.
