I called this store in Chantily VA since the sister store where I originally bought the table (in Finksburg MD) went out of business. The incredibly nice person I spoke with understood my concern asked me to provide pictures via email. Subsequently the staff of this store forwarded the request to their manufacturer in NC who in turn Fed Ex the replacement leg to me. I had informed the original person I had a neighbor willing to do the work to install the corrected leg so as soon as the product arrived he did the work. The replacement leg is perfect, beautiful, & has been sturdy, safe & great. All of this occurred within about a week. I have been incredibly impressed with the professionalism & this business standing by their product!!! They are a definite example of what a wonderful business should be like!

The customer service representative at Bare Woods are very helpful, asking lots of questions about what you're looking for and they help you to figure out what you want your finishes to be, and even have the ability to have a piece of furniture custom-made. They walk you through picking what you need, and help you figure out what will best suit your needs in a friendly and courteous fashion. They were never pushy, and they never made me feel like I was imposing; or that they didn't have time for all my questions.

They're great. It took a while to get the furniture.

We have purchased several items from Bare Woods over the last 12 years and have been very satisfied with the quality of the furniture. It is beautifully made and can last a lifetime if cared for properly. We had the option of having the furniture stained in the color of our choice, or staining the furniture ourselves; we have done both. They also offer pick-up or delivery, and we have done both as well. Due to the craftsmanship involved, there is a longer turnaround time, and their prices are higher than others, but we have not regretted one purchase. The staff is kind and knowledgable and works with you to satisfy your needs. Since lead time is usually several weeks, we do recommend contacting them as the pick-up or delivery date approaches so you are aware of any delays.

The furniture itself is very good, but the service and installation was extremely unprofessional and disappointing. I will definitely not be doing business with them again. They installed a bunk bed with drawers facing the wall, then claimed that this was the direction of the bed as it was built in the store and that we should have expected this--despite the fact that a) the image in the catalog had the drawers on the other side of the bed, b) it can be built on either side, and c) this defies even the slightest notion of common sense (why would you buy a bed with drawers and then have the drawers against the wall so they cannot be used?). When we told them that the drawers were in the wrong direction, rather than apologize and quickly fix the situation, they a) blamed us for not being home during installation (even though previously they had said it would be fine if contractors were present, as they just needed access), b) lied and said that the contractor had insisted on the drawers being installed in that direction, c) dragged their feet about calling us back, and d) refused to come back to make the change (even though it wouldn't have taken them more than 30 minutes), and e) were rude over the phone and did not call back as they had promised. This is some of the worst customer service I have seen in this area, and I recommend staying away from this company. Again, the materials themselves are solid, but if you have the slightest problem, good luck dealing with their customer service.

Visited the Bare Woods store for the first time in November 2010. Was very impressed with the furniture they offered - both quality and prices. Talked to salesperson about getting a piece of furniture custom-made to fit as a "built-in" for our kitchen area. Were told what measurements we would need and what wood and color options we would have. Salesperson was informative. Returned in early January with measurements and selected the company and style we really liked. Unfortunately we needed to make too many modifications to the piece and that company was not able to accommodate our specs. Bare Woods recommended a different company and we returned to discuss details, make a drawing and place order. The furniture came in less time than expected. It was delivered on schedule and the quality and workmanship is excellent. Salespersons can get very busy, particularly on weekends. It can take a day or two for return phone calls. It was a bit nerve-wracking to special order a product and not be certain how it would look when finished and whether it would fit in the space with very precise measurements. However, the final product looks great and while it cost more than we initially thought it was still a good price for a custom-fit. Will buy from them gain when we are ready for our next piece.

We found some pieces that we liked, but each had some fatal flaws that we couldn't live with. The Island on display was great, except it had a bar overhand built in that made it too wide for our cramped kitchen. They could specify the top in a different configuration that worked for us, and stained it to match some other items in there. The Liquor cabinet started life as a little cupboard that was too wide, too tall, and to rustic for our tastes. We were able to shrink it's dimensions and change it's style to fit the space we had to work with, and add in a pull-out work area so that it could replace the bar surface that was going away. We got it finished and delivered. The furniture is made in Pennsylvania, so the new designs had to be sent to the cabinet maker to be built. Bare Woods took the finished pieces and stained then to our specifications. They use a delivery service that was on-time and friendly. The whole process did take a couple of months though. In my best case scenario I would have gone to Hardwood Artisans, but the amount I payed for two pieces would have bought me almost nothing there. The quality of the pieces is good, with real wood used for construction and good quality hardware. The island is good looking Oak, and the cabinet is pine. I was very happy to work with the folks at Bare Woods, and will use them in the future.

Rich worked with me very patiently and was extremely understanding that I wanted an item to fit my needs, not to waste space by being even 1 inch shorter than actual space available. The finished product far exceeded my hopes and expectations. Of three estimates on what I wanted and drawing design, this was by far the nicest and certainly the best price (next estimated price was in $3500 range.) I took the extra money and ordered special cabinet for kitchen (had to fit a special location,) entry door cabinet (another special measurement,) an under-window storage bench and topped it all off with two large cabinets also for dressing room. All done by the custom furniture maker. Though this from Chantilly understand my sales person now runs the new showroom in Warrenton so also recommend their store.
