Virginia Tire & Auto of Centreville

They have been excellent and I have never had any problems with their work. They have been very honest and they stand behind their work. I would highly recommend them and will continue to use them.

Virginia tire & auto is known for high standard of customer service & customer satisfaction, but unfortunately this is not the case with Centreville location & John Miller the store manager , i had to take the car for alignment after slight hit to curb, they said that they can not align the car due to suspension damage, and to make the story short I had to run after them for 3 days to get the estimate to fix suspension, the estimate came with 2600$ for replacing all suspension parts on the driver side only, I decided to take the car for second opinion to Sears and here is the surprise, it coast only 180$, they needed to add camber bolt and align the car, so I decide to speak with John Miller the store manager of Centreville location to address this issue, so John said that they needed 3 days for estimate because they were locking for used parts from the junk yard and he said that the car is old and do not worth fix it with new parts (what a disrespect) & (the car is 1999 while many cars on the road with this age & running fine), then he said bring the car to check if sears replaced parts to align it, so I did take the car to them ( this will be the forth time going to them for the same issue), now on that visit the tech. with John & his general service manager were all involved in the conversation & they were trying to justify why they asked for 2600$, all the three were fighting me with rudeness & disrespect, finally John pulled fifty $ in cash from his pocket & said take your money back (although I paid by credit card he did return money in cash!!!) , extremely bad experience .

These people are very professional and I love that they tell you upfront all the costs you will incur and explain if you really need it or if it can wait. I always have problems trusting mechanics, but these folks make me feel a little bit more at ease than the rest.

I have been using them for a long time. The only thing is the price. The price has always been high like any other mechanic you go.

I like the service and everything. It is more expensive then my old guy, but he used to do it so cheap. I get a ride back home and I do not have to sit. They cost a little more money. You used to be able to bring your oil and it was cheaper but not anymore. They are convenient.

I have been a customer since 1989 when I moved to the area. Very pleased with this establishment. Mr. Quinn and Mr. Miller are quality people, very professional. On difficult issues, I receive thorough explanations, pros & cons on alternative approaches, and no BS. This is a good business operation.

I have been going to this location for oil changes for years. I like their convenient hours and they do a good job on oil changes. I don't bring my car here for any auto service.

They are pretty quick. They are good. They are clean. I think they are pretty honest. They tend to be on the little bit pricey side but there is no runaround. We have been generally pleased with their service. They are very good.

Virginia Tire and Auto has the potential to be a great place to take your car, but there are real problems there that need to be addressed first. Despite some bad experiences, I still use VA Tire and Auto for maintenance services and tires because of the conveniences they offer. I would not, however, use them for major repairs. 
I'l start with the positive:
Pros:
-Everyone is always very polite and professional
-Shuttle service is very useful and is not offered by many competitors in the area
-They take appointments for service
-They are flexible in matching prices of local competitors and even Tire Rack
-They attempt to make up for errors with extra customer service (such as picking up and dropping off a car at my home that was incorrectly serviced)
-They offer free lifetime tire rotations and a 30-day guarantee on new tires
Cons:
-I've experienced serious mistakes made on more than one occasion - installing the wrong size tires and the wrong oil weight, for example
-Pricing is completely opaque, even to the reps behind the desk - the computer simply adds different shop fees without rhyme or reason, which makes finding out your final cost difficult unless you go through everything with a fine tooth comb before your car is serviced
-They utilize a phony review site called "SureCritic" that allows them to delete reviews they do not like, even true ones - this is a very shady practice
-Can be long wait times, even with appointments - though the shuttle service helps to mitigate this
If you do decide to go here, make sure to do the following:
-Ask for a service writeup before you give them the keys
-Go through that writeup very, very thoroughly - look for the total price and make sure it is what you expect. Ask about fees that seem wrong.
-Look through that writeup for the details of the service, very very thoroughly. Is the oil weight correct? The tire size? Brand/model of tires? 
-If you need to make any changes to the services you are having done, ask for the new total price and compare to the old total on the service writeup. Is the difference what you expected? (For example, adding a "$20" Nitrogen fill to tire services actually increases shop fees too, so the difference won't be just $20+tax.)
-If you are waiting for your car, ask for a time estimate and check intermittently with the desk to make sure it is on schedule. I've had to wait 2 hours for an oil change when I was told it would take 45 minutes.
-If you had them price match something, get the name of the rep you spoke to and get the total price including fees - write it down and confirm that price is what is on the service writeup
-Never assume that something will be done because you spoke about it - make sure it's on the written service record beforehand.

About to head home but battery was completely dead. After a jump start my truck wouldn't even hold an idle. Thank goodness Virginia Tireand Auto was open late and they had my battery type in stock. 20 minutes and I was on my way! The staff was also very kind and professional.

Great as usual. I bring my car to this shop anytime I have car trouble. It's the only shop I trust. The team that works at VA Tire and Auto I feel I can trust them with their estimates and they're very upfront and honest with their feedback. These guys go the extra mile every time. There was an occasion when they even drove to my house to pick up my car while I was on a trip and fixed it and it was ready for me to go to work upon my return. I was IMPRESSED. Most excellent shop.

It took about an hour to do the inspections. The cars passed and didn't need any further work. I was able to get scheduled the same day.

At first they were giving me the hard sell on the tires, replacing the pressure gauges and filling the tires with nitrogen, all of which cost slightly more than just the tires, however, they did not try to sell me additional services, like oil changes, etc., the way other tire sellers do. They did the job in 45 minutes and in fact did not give me new pressure gauges because they said mine were in good shape. They are one of those smooth-talking "salesy" companies that make me feel a little uncomfortable, but they were also very courteous and did the work fast and with high quality. I would use again.

I've been going to them for a year or so and they're fantastic. They have a little garage that I can take my daughter because she loves to play there while I get an oil change. Their service is fantastic and their prices are very reasonable. I've been very pleased with their work. The staff are very courteous and I have no complaints at all. They are very helpful and everything has been great. They also did alignment for me, brake work and everything has been fast. I haven't had any problem on the work that has been done. I will continue to use their services.

I've only used their services twice but my experiences have been good. The staff is friendly and I've been satisfied.

They are very straight forward. I've asked them questions and they said "Yeah, you could do that and it'd be a lot cheaper." I usually never worry about what they do at all and they are very honest.

Awesome. We never wait too long, and they will let us know initially if the wait will be long. They have taken us home to wait while the repairs are being done, and have picked us up from the house to pick up the car. I remember one instance last year, when we took the car to Sears 3 different times and paid each time and the car was never fixed. VA tire and auto fixed the alternator last year, and fixed it for free this year when the car started making the same noise. The part must have been defective. Great customer service!
