The Living Space

The bathroom remodeling costed us about $3000 to $4000 and the kitchen costed about $12000.  They were very helpful with the kitchen.  I think it was the owner that came and he did a visual graphic of how basically the kitchen was going to look like.  We agreed on it and they started the work.  The work actually took a little bit longer than what the owner had initially said.  We were really satisfied with the final product.  We had a few issues a year later and it took a while to get a hold of them to come back and fix the issues.  The sink had lost its water pressure and we had some tiles that were cracked.  It took a few tries to get a hold of them, and then it took even longer for them to actually come out and take a look at it and then fix it.  We did use them once more after the kitchen was done.  They are not very good at calling us back.  We will not use their services again in the future because it’s so hard to get a hold of them.

The design work was good. The owner and super indentent of the company, Jay and Kee, were both great, but their workers were not. They couldn't communicate with us well because of their english being not very good, their work was also sloppy and they always had to go back and do it over. When I told them to do it another way or fix something they looked at me as if I was crazy. Instead of the job taking 2 weeks, it ended up taking 3.5 months. The granite and appliance subcontractors that they used were great.

It was a rough experience. They provided good design and relatively reasonable price. The cabinets were not custom so there are a few expected imperfections but it look good overall (Cherry wood finish). However, there were delays and the work completed about a month and half late. Installation of appliances were done without proper review of manufacturer installation manual and ended up with a few mistakes. They didn't clean up after themselves until we pointed that out and when they do, they use all our cleaning equipments didn't bother to bring their own. The carpenter didn't even bring his own ladder. They were climbing up to do work using our paint bucket! The project manager responded quickly to phone calls and emails but it was always a call from us because of delay or issues. They require close supervision from us in order for us to have this decent finished kitchen.

I was very pleased with their work. They helped me to stay within my budget and helped me pick items that allowed me to stay within my budget. They helped me to design some more efficient designs and also helped me to use space more efficiently. They were able to do the work in a short timeframe and were very pleasant to work with. They were very responsive to my problems. There were a couple of adjustments that needed to be made. They were happy to do that for me. I was happy with everything.
