Jamie Newkirk and his crew created a beautiful front porch and lead walk using stone and pavers. They showed up when they said they would and worked diligently to remove the old porch and build the new one. The price was very fair and Jamie was very helpful in his suggestions on the design and choice of materials. I highly recommend using this company.

He was excellent. Technically they are excellent, very responsive, very personable so they arrive on time, they do what they say they are going to do, they do it well, they clean up well and all the while being efficient and personable. I think it was through referral from somebody else who I was looking at for little bit of work on my house and that was the first time and that was so many years ago and I got into a separate arrangement with them since then, so it was a professional referral.

Jamie was prompt in responding to my request. He provided an estimate that was about 40% of an earlier estimate we received for the same work.  His crew was prompt, courteous and very professional and started and completed the work as promised.  Jamie reviewed the finished installation and noticed some issues with the lawn and offered to seed and fertilize areas that were used to store the dirt removed for the walkway.  He also finished this work when promised. We are very satisfied with his work and would not hesitate to use Newkirk Services in the future.

After the installation of the drain, the water problem continued. The work was under warranty, so we contacted the contractor numerous times to have him try to fix the problem, but he broke every appointment, often with no notification that he would be unable to keep the appointment. We had informed the contractor at the very beginning that we were putting our house on the market and that we needed to have this work done in order to move on to other repairs--replacing flooring and having landscaping done.  When, after being put off by the contractor for two months, we informed him that we could wait no longer and if we didn't hear from him in 24 hours we would have to hire another company to correct the problem and that we expected a partial refund of the money paid him, since he was not honoring his warranty.
At this point, the contractor became belligerent and abusive for no reason. We were only asking him to make good on his warranty. He threatened to sue us if we posted any negative reviews regarding this situation.
As we needed to correct the situation in order to get the house ready for sale, we brought in a drainage expert for a consultation. This expert inspected Newkirk's work and informed us that the drain had been improperly installed and was likely causing the flooding we were experiencing since the installation of the drain.
The most unprofessional contractor I have ever dealt with. The most disturbing part is his attempt to bully and intimidate a client who has paid him in full on time and given every opportunity for him to live up to his obligation.

Working with Jamie was a pleasure; he responded immediately to us, easily understood our requirements, and gave us an estimate significantly lower than others. He helped us in the selection of the flagstone. He closely supervised the execution of the project and happily responded to any arising issues. His crew implemented the plans to our satisfaction: they were highly professional and "artistic", and cleaned after them.
The whole process was stress-free thanks to the professionalism, flexibility, and classy personality of Jamie. The end product has been praised unanimously by our family members and visitors.

Overall the projects went very well.  Jamie was very easy to work with, easily accommodated my ideas and, based on his experience and knowledge, offered his own. Small adjustments as we progressed were addressed without misunderstanding and to my satisfaction. (There was no "drama.") My work was incorporated into Jamie's schedule with little difficulty or inconvenience. Jamie was prompt, professional and pleasant from the outset. We established a "partnership" that existed throughout our experience. My goal, in part, was to assure that the projects were integrated well one with another and that all were integral to the house itself. I think that goal was realized. Jamie strongly shared and demonstrated our mutual desire to "get it right."  He always communicated schedule concerns and surfaced issues that needed attention or decisions. He wanted to be satisfied with his work but more importantly wanted me to be satisfied. Neighbors were impressed with Jamie's work, so much so that he was engaged by at least one of them for similar projects. (Note: the cost was more than the "default" $1,000 but I think the actual cost was quite fair.)

Jamie came to the house to do an estimate where he clearly explained what he would do, how he would do it and the products he would use to do it.   Without even so much as a deposit, he sent his team to the house and when I arrived home from work the walkway was like new.  The carefully explained the care and maintenance of our newly renewed walkway, cleaned up the work area and departed.  The whole process was absolutely painless.

The rep listened to the problems and walked around and we discussed possible remedies. He took my email address and promised to send an estimate, but I never received it or heard from them again. That was about 2 months ago.

This company was responsive, prompt, and affordable. They completed work within two weeks of first contact, and the quality of the work was superior.
