Our family used this provider in the past several times. In the past, we appreciated their pricing, honesty, and report of any problems they found. Then all of a sudden, the company changed. This fall, they wanted to double the price for a pre-existing customer (that they say they will not do) because of the material that our roof is made out of (which by the way has not changed since we last used, or ever during their visits). They wanted to charge nearly double for a small townhouse roof because they determined that they could not walk over the roof to save their company time and had to carry ladders a few feet around the townhouse (something they had always done in the past anyway). Their visits have always been less than 15 minutes, so we complained and asked why. They offered to give us the old price back for one visit and then walked across our roof while we were home! Then when we complained that they violated their company policy to not walk on our roof and still spent the same amount of time the individual who responded in writing, mind you, says it is "human nature because their employees work on commission" and they are "sure" that since the employee was a roofer that even though he violated their policy he did a complete job and knew what he was doing. BEWARE if you have anything other than an asphalt roof or live in a house...they will try to charge you double. We feel that they should have offered a full refund for violating their company's policy and threatening to charge double for our next visit. Particularly since our neighbors have people who do the work for much less. Guess they don't care about retaining customers and all work on commission from customer service to their workers.
"Prior to service, the homeowner approved the same price as we had charged since 2010 — $79. We cleaned her gutters and downspouts for her, so there is no reason she should receive a free service just because she does not agree with what we informed her we will charge her in the future. There are some specific issues with her home that significantly add to the time and difficulty to complete her service if our technicians adhere to our self-imposed procedures to improve safety. She is correct that our technicians did not follow our self-imposed procedures, and we will deal with that personnel matter internally. Her out of context reference to the “human nature” comment refers to us trying to explain to her that if a job is priced too low, the technicians are tempted to save time by not following all of our self-imposed safety procedures. The bottom line is that we always get approval for a price BEFORE completing service, so each homeowner can decide if we offer value for the service. We do not try to be the “cheapest” rain gutter cleaning service because we believe this is important and dangerous work, and our hard working technicians should be well paid to perform this work."
I've always been very happy with the job that they do.
There were a number of times over the years that I seemed to "drop off" their service list and I had to reach out to them and say "you forgot about me... again," but it's always been resolved to my satisfaction, but I've got to give them a B for responsiveness for that reason.
I have no problem recommending them to my friends and neighbors, and in fact have done so many times over the years.
They provide superior service. Their crew members are professional and always knock on the door before starting the service. Their service is excellent. Ryan, the owner, is very polite and quick to respond to emails. This last time, they had promised me to perform the service by the end of the day on 12/20/2014. It was a Saturday, and by mid-day, they were not at my property, so told myself, they are not going to make it. However, they proved me wrong. They showed up just before sunset and finished the job. Maple Leaf keeps its promise!!! Quality service!!!
