Once we settled on the details of the Scope of Work, his brick mason came over and did an incredible job of matching the brick and shoring up the garage door framework to ensure a lasting fix. The mason came out a second day and did some additional trim repair, performing some painting an caulking that was above my expectations. He had to go to several providers to find matching trim to our 40-year old home. Joe and his team do first-rate work and it's no wonder that they have been on the Super Service list for so many years. JP will be my first choice in the future.

An excellent contractor to deal with. They arrived exactly when they said they would for both the estimate and the job. They kept me informed about the schedule, the process, etc. On the day of the replacement, the whole crew arrived, completely prepared, and got to work. Both of the owners were there to oversee the start of the project, but it was clear that their staff were very knowledgeable about what to do. When I returned home later in the day, they were still doing the finish work and cleaning up. I had the opportunity to watch them and I was impressed -- the company clearly expects excellent work from its employees, and they in turn embrace that desire to do the best they can. My driveway was not an interesting, high end project but they still spent a lot of time getting it just right. And when they were finished, they cleaned everything up beautifully. I would absolutely use them again and will recommend them to my neighbors.

Paulo was my contact person, and he, and his staff did an amazing job! The work looks beautiful. I gave them a B on price only because of the 4 estimates I got, JP Company was the highest. But in this case, you get what you pay for. The whole reason we had to do this project, is, it was not done well the first time around, so we wanted it dome correctly.

From the first visit to get an estimate to the end, the project went great. The estimate process went smoothly where I got detailed responses to my list of questions and suggestions for how to handle a few challenges for the project. The written estimate was provided quicker than promised and the price was reasonable. Their backlog was estimated at 5 weeks before they could start work but thanks to a cancellation JP was able to start just a week after signing the contract. The team showed up right on time, worked efficiently and completed the whole project in a single day. And the driveway looks great. I recommend JP Companies for your next concrete project.

Project went very well. Timeliness of everything from the initial estimate to the final work was excellent. Price quote was good with an "off-season" discount. The crew showed up exactly as planned with notice given in advance based upon weather prediction. JP really has the right equipment to do the job efficiently and professionally - they had the entire original driveway removed in 45 minutes, amazing to watch. Rest of the day was for pouring and setting and smoothing. New driveway looks great.

The job went smoothly from start to finish. JP Companies replaced an old crumbly asphalt driveway with smooth concrete. I had many companies out for estimates, and JP Companies gave the best value for the work done. Paulo is very personable and made sure we were happy with the new driveway.

The project went well. We had estimates done from two different companies and chose this one even though it was a bit higher. Paulo was both professional and personable, and guided us in working out a plan. Even though our estimate said the work could take multiple days, the workers (3) arrived at approx. 8:00am, worked hard, and completed the job in one day. The project was carried out as planned and we were pleased with both the process and the outcome. Our new walkway and steps look great and are as solid as can be.

One of the mistakes they made is they did not put the paver parallel to the sidewalk so they had to pull that out and redo it. It did not look as smooth as it could have if they had not done that. Supervisor had some other place to go and the guys did not know to put the pavers there.

Everything was absolutely perfect. I received estimates from 3 companies. Paulo's was the lowest and had the best warranty. The communication between Paulo and myself was excellent. He and his crew came out to do the work about 2 weeks after the estimate. They showed up on time, the work was done in 1.5 days. The crew cleaned up everything after they left. My driveway and sidewalks look awesome! I am the talk of the neighborhood! I would highly recommend JP Companies. I am a very satisfied costumer and am considering hiring them again to do more work in the backyard!

Paulo was very easy to work with and he has some very good concrete guys. They went about their business efficiently and were very professional. They were very meticulous and cleaned up and left everything just as they had found it. They even rolled my hose back up better than how they found it,,,,,it's those kinds of small details that impress me. This was a small job for Paulo but he still gave it the priority and attention I expected.

Recently, we had our driveway redone by JP Companies, Inc. We cannot recommend this company highly enough. From start to finish, they were responsible, highly knowledgable, skilled, personable, and thorough - as exemplified by Paulo Nicolau, who managed our job from the outset. He was responsive to our every question and request and his crew was incredibly hard- working and efficient. Right down to the clean-up, the job was exemplary. The price was fair; the service excellent all around. We decided upon an aggregate driveway, which looks beautiful and tremendously improves the aspect of our house from the street. We ask ourselves ‘why did we not do this sooner?’
Specifically:
-Demo and haul away existing concrete, furnished and install a new expanded and exposed aggregate concrete driveway.
-Pressure washed and repointed existing walkway and acid washed front stoop.

Selected JP Companies over four (4) other Angie's List Super Service providers because of JP Companies more detailed written proposal, they took extra time to determine my exact requirements, inspect site, and discuss options on how to perform job. In discussing how work would be performed, they most closely complied with what I considered best construction practices. JP Companies were very responsive to communications. You can also text them. They coordinated 811 call to check with utilities. Did a little extra manual labor to avoid using a concrete pumping truck, saving me $500 on cost. Ran into a little surprise during demolition. The old concrete patio varied from 2" to 8" thickness. Only problem I had was with their clean up. A supervisor was not on site during clean up and the crew cleaned some of their equipment in my yard and gardens, leaving cement residue. While some spillage of materials during transport was expected and acceptable, rinsing cement dust and gravel base off into my gardens was not. When Paulo (VP) came by for final payment, he apologized and understood why I was unhappy. He was at a loss to explain why they did it. He offered to hose it down but I preferred to do it myself and wanted to remove the contaminated soil from the vegetable garden. This is the only reason I graded JP Companies down on performance. I would use them again, but request a supervisor be present during clean up.

We are very pleased with the work and the responsiveness of Paulo and his crew. The driveway looks great and our kids have put it to good use as a basketball court and riding zone for their scooters and bikes.
When the work was finished, we expressed concern about a detail to Paulo. He met with us the next day and had crew members return within hours to fix the problem. I would recommend the company to anyone.

Always showed up on time and as scheduled. Paulo was very informative and patient with my questions when he came out to do the estimate. He understood what I wanted and asked questions when he had them to make sure they would do the job the way I wanted. Was more than a simple driveway replacement--changed the shape a bit and widened the entire length.
The work was done very efficiently and professionally, the workers all knew exactly what they were doing and they took care to do as little damage to the lawn as possible. Cleaned up the site very well after the work, including the little things like filling in the dirt on the side of the driveway and leaving the entire work area "broom clean".
The driveway came out great and the modifications were just what I wanted. Definitely recommend them!

Rather than go into excruciating detail regarding the work performed, I'd prefer to stick to my problems with JP Companies. The first winter we experienced after JP Companies completed their work resulted in: (1) significant frost-heaving of the two driveway segments closest to my garage that had been re-poured by JP Companies, and (2) cracking across two areas of the concrete portion of the walkway built by JP Companies (the walkway experienced minimal use). Rather than re-pour the driveway segments, JP Companies told me to wait several months (if not a year) for the driveway to resettle (they still haven't settled completely after over a year). JP Companies did come out and repair the walkway cracks, but those cracks quickly reappeared - even worse the second time around. I complained several times by e-mail and telephone message to JP Companies over a period of months - but received no response. Finally, I gave up and decided to post this review so that no other homeowner goes through the same experience.
In my opinion, JP Companies does the work, takes your money, but their warranty is essentially worthless. I'm hoping that someone in JP Companies' management notices this review and decides to make things right.

My dealings with Paulo (Vice President) before, during and after the project were everything one would expect from a reputable contractor. I chose JP Companies over about 5 other contractors because of the professional and courteous manner of Paulo and their cost estimate was more reasonable than the others.
The crew showed up on time and completed the work within the timeframe quoted. It was obvious that they took extra care to keep damage and disruption to my lawn and shrubs to a minimum. They cleaned up very nicely afterwards and one would never know that the amount of construction activity that took place during the project actually happened.
If I ever need more concrete work performed, I would choose JP Companies again without hesitation and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good, honest concrete contractor.

From beginning to end everything went perfectly. Paulo listen as I explained what worked we wanted performed and made several suggestions which were spot on which we incorporated. Masonry and concrete crews were professional, excellent workmanship. The estimated time of the project given was exactly what it took. They also went out of their way and replaced a couple of broken bricks on our stairwell. Can't wait to try out the new patio this spring and with the new side walks no more walking in the mud this is great with all the snow we just got. I would definitely recommend and hire JP Companies for future projects.
