"Thank You So Much"
"Process is going through BBB. Customer claims we did the driveway faster than expected?! Contract clearly states that the duration of the work is 1-2 days. It is not uncommon for a good concrete installer to do a 816 SF driveway in a day. Especially in the summer when the days are longer and weather is good. Issues he brings up are clearly stated in contract under Standard Provisions item #6-10. We would attach pictures of the driveway and the executed contract but I don’t believe Angie’s List allows us too. We’ve been back to address the driveway multiple times even though the issues the customer brings up are not warrantied. We did so out of good faith. Customer signed a contract that clearly states that and he’s also been told in multiple emails that’s the case. He was even told that before we did the “repairs”. Even so, we’ve been back twice to address the issue at no cost to the customer but at a cost of $2k + to us. Concrete is a natural product and hairline cracks/small pitting can happen with no fault of the contractor. That’s why it’s in the contract. Our business practice is to email proposals to the customer so they can review the contract (every part of it) at their comfort. We do not provide formal proposals onsite to avoid any “pressure selling” and to make sure nothing falls through the cracks. We also encourage our customers to ask any and all questions they may have before we contract work. Also, customer is complaining about tires marks. How are we supposed to warranty against tire marks? Customer says we’re not willing to address the issue but acknowledges we’ve been back twice. We are not perfect contractors (no one is) but we are honest and we stand behind our work. Case in point are our 150+ A reviews on Angie’s List, our 20+ 5 star reviews on Home Advisor and good standing with the BBB. We’ve also been in business for 11 years and have grown every year. Our reputation speaks for itself. We are always willing to work with our customers but also believe things need and should be fair. Unfortunately, Sometimes customers want to make sure they get their point across (which is their right) even though they may not be in the right. With all that being said, we do apologize (not for our work) but that it had to get to this point and the customer feels the way they do."

"We definitely explained to the customer that we have a minimum. The customer was upset because no one she has called wanted to take on such a small job. We tried to work with her on pricing over the phone but politely explained to her multiple times, we are a business and need to make money and therefore the reasoning for a minimum. She hung up the phone upset because all the companies she called had minimums and no company wanted to take on her job at the price she was willing to pay."

"Quick Note: This job was [Member Name Removed] 6500 SF pipestem shared by 3 neighbors in Vienna. It was [Member Name Removed] referral by [Member Name Removed] neighbor. His other neighbors have or will give reviews as well. As far as your communication issue: - We met (you, me and your 2 neighbors) 6 weeks before we started your project to go over all questions and sign the contract. - We emailed all of you [Member Name Removed] week before we started work to let you'll know. - The day we started I was onsite until 10:30-11 am and knocked on your door at 6:30 am to go over things one last time. You didn't answer. Your neighbors did. As far as your gravel issue and your current level of driveway: - I can provide pictures and emails showing the gravel depth as well as "YOUR CONTRACT" that you specifically wanted stated "1 inch higher that existing. Not sure if Angie's List allows us to post picture and email evidence but we have it and would be more than happy to share them. With all that being said, we appreciate your business and promp payment once the job was complete. Thanks."
