"Thank you[Member name removed] for the positive review, it was my pleasure."
"Thank you for the Review, it was nice working with you at your Home Inspection. Good Luck in your new home."
was so thorough and because he took the time to make sure that we understood what he was doing, what he saw, and what the effect of that might be.
"Thanks for the Review, it was great meeting you and helping you to understand your new home. Unfortunately, traffic in the DC area puts me behind sometimes, I apologize for my tardiness. I hope you've been enjoying your new home."
Update: After working with Paul, we realized he charged us more than the norm for home inspections. He also did not return calls or "close the loop" following the initial work. We will not use Paul or Trade Master again, and would like to warn others as well.
He had 80% of the money and had done maybe 60% of the work. He emailed us to say he had badly underestimated the job and could only complete it if we fronted more money for materials. No way that was going to happen.
Because we knew Paul and thought we could trust him, we were already in way too deep. And it wasn't over; a week or two later a sub-contractor showed up with an unpaid invoice in hand. We have no idea what he was doing with our money... we can only imagine.
Had we been a bit more diligent, we would have found out that Paul already had a Chapter 7 bankruptcy and had been sued for $30k + for failing to complete another job. It is all a matter of record with the Virginia Contractor's Board.
