EMC Reliable Movers INC

Things may have changed since 2010, but my experience with EMC Reliable movers has changed my entire outlook on hiring movers rather than moving items myself.  The experience was so horrendous that my girlfriend was in tears.
First, the schedule was changed multiple times during the week and then on the day of the move.  We had until 10pm to be moved into our apartment and had to beg the doorman to extend that time so that we could get things moved in.  The original move was scheduled for 7AM, then moved to 12PM, and then after numerous calls regarding their whereabouts, they finally arrived at 6PM.
When the movers arrived, they moved very nonchalantly and one was even carrying things while on his cellphone.  I ended up having to help them with the move in order to get things moving.
After things were finally moved in, I found that multiple items were damaged with scratches as well as our wooden bed frame being split in two and a side table having one of its legs broken.
While they claim to be bonded, that made no difference when I attempted to make a claim on the furniture.  They were so resistant to it that I would have had to take them to small claims court to recoup my losses which I felt would not be worth my time.
It was an experience that I will never forget due to so many mishaps that occured.

Even after the Superstorm known as Sandy changed my original move date...movers showed up right on time on rescheduled date and got straight to work.  Nothing was damaged and my move (from Pungo to Moyock) went quicker than expected.  Both employees were courteous and pleasure to do business with.

I had an 9 AM appointment but the movers arrived at 2 PM even after I had made the appointment  a month ahead of time. This company had double booked our move.

They did a great job from start to finish. Eddie was extremely helpful and his crew was personal and professional. They took care of my furniture and did not ding up any walls.

I found this company online and e-mailed Eddie Carter. I promptly received a response e-mail from Mr. Carter answering all my questions completely. I phoned him that I needed help moving in less than 2 weeks. He was very polite and was able to work us into his schedule. Mr. Carter was in constant communication! On the day of the move, he showed up at my residence (on time), with a moving truck. We showed him and his partner what items were being moved into the new home and what items were being put into storage. Then, they promptly organized our items and packed them in the truck (they even had a dolly and furniture pads!). They were very fast and careful with our furniture (it was raining out too!). They drove our items to the storage unit, unloaded those pieces, and then drove the rest of the items to the house. After unloading all the items, they put together beds and placed all the furniture where it was supposed to go (even though they still had 3 other jobs to do that day!). The entire process (packing the truck in Williamsburg, driving to Newport News, unloading items in storage, driving to the house, unloading items at house, and putting together beds) took 2.5 hours! This group was very polite and professional! I would absolutely recommend them!!! Thank you Eddie Carter and team! :)
