Everything went well. The company set up my appointment via e-mail. They offered me several appointments and I chose the one most convenient. They were right on time and performed the work/maintenance on my machine in the garage. The snow thrower is now in excellent running condition.

It went really well. We called in with the details of the machine to be repaired, scheduled the appointment, and the repair professional (Tim) showed up, inspected, and repair the snow thrower right on on our driveway. The whole thing took about an hour. Tim was courteous, professional, and gave us tips on how to maintain the machine so we wouldn't have the same problem again.
The only thing I would say could have been better is that the person that set up the appointment gave us a window for arrival that wasn't possible for the driver, so it would have been nice if they called within that window (as opposed to 45min. passed it) to let us know of the delay. We understand things happen with schedule but communication is good practice in any business.
Even still, I would definitely hire them again. They seem to know their stuff and did a good job!

After he serviced the two generators I went to try them the next day and neither of them worked. I have been trying to call and I havent been able to contact the service provider.

"Normally at BLR we don’t not express our distaste towards a customer review, however, in this case we must. I have to point out my facts to his remarks. I state his, because (Member name removed) is not the person that I conversed with over the phone. It was a person by the name of Taylor. 1) We did not service 2 generators; we Repaire due to improper maintenance and storage. 2) Both generators work, but the owner did not know how to start up the machines – which is “NOT” our fault – Read the Owner’s Manual. I know this because, I had Taylor send me emails with pics, and on one of the Generators the fuel cut off switch was turned off (Angie, I can provide you the emails). I tried to explain over the phone of the possibilities of what might be causing the generators to shut down, but he had no idea of the terminology of cut off switch, choke, and fuel source. Regardless, I assisted him via email pics (which showed improper use by Taylor) over numerous phone calls. I applaud reviews both negative and positive. Conversely, one’s lack of knowledge and inability to read the proper start up procedure, probably should not own that piece of equipment."

With the snow already falling, I needed a place to reseat the bead on my snow blower tire. Their service was quick, but I think $20 to inflate a tire was a bit much. I didn't complain, because the service was fast. Still, for the work done, the price should've been a bit lower.

"The reason your tire was loosing air, was because the bead was not sealing. Hence we have to physically seat the bead of the tire to the rim - Labor. More involved than just airing the tire. As a gentle reminder the price was agreed upon before the work was accomplished."

The mower wouldn't run before I took it in, but it ran like new after they finished. Their service was excellent and prompt. I had replaced the oil and air filter, and they checked them and did not try to charge me for the same things again. Outstanding service.

Repair work is first class. Very happy with the results. Burke Lawn Mower and Small Engine Repair does great work and gave me the impression that they do a fairly heavy volume of business. My only advice to other customers is to follow up on your repair. They were not good at getting back to me. I feel as long as you know that going in and don't set the expectation that they will call you back with the status of your repair, you will not be dissapointed. They do very good work and I'd use them again.

Clean and adjustment was OK. But the drive wheel fix didn't last 2 weeks. Don't work now.

They did a fine job of sharpening the mower's blades and repairing its engine for a fair price. However, the owner didn't seem to be interested in addressing the issues with its rear drive shaft which was disappointing. My guess is that this was primarily due to the fact that he had limited time, skills, and space available.

Did a terrific job on the old tiller--works perfectly now. My mower just needed a few simple tune-up items after 3 years of use--works great!

Went well. Lawn mower was never promised to be fixed by a certain date but was fixed in four days. Works fine. However, cost almost half the purchase price.

Very professional, friendly service. They cleaned out the fuel system and replaced the fuel filter. Also sharpened the blades, so now it mows like a new mower. Very happy with their service.

Burke's Repair took the item in and listened carefully to my descriptor of current and longer term problems I have had with the machine. (My primary long-term complaint was that it was hard to start and frequently needed to operated with the choke on.) The management was very prompt in calling me back with an estimate. Additionally, they recommended having a completely new carburetor procured and installed to resolve the starting and choke issue. They were very quick in both procuring the parts and completing the work - notwithstanding it being in the midst of their busiest season!
The machine has operated flawlessly since I picked it up.
The price was higher than I had expected but the quality of the work more than compensated for the cost I incurred.
I will certainly use Burke's Repair again in the future.

UPDATE: Raising from a C to a B grade. After using this company twice now for lawn mower repair/weed wacker repair, it seems that the pricing is pretty good but the lead time is tough to overcome. Lawnmower is looked at (no service performed) and blade sharpened in a full week. Weedwacker was looked at but no service performed in 2 weeks. Got a phone call about the lawnmower but no communication about the weedwacker until I called them.
Over the phone the owner (I believe) seems to be really busy and quick with me (multiple occasions). In person the staff takes their time and educates me on what I should be aware of. That's awesome and the reason I'll be back.

The reason is the labor cost and espcially parts availability - long, long, lead time. Mr. Johnson operates out of a shopping center parking lot where his shop was located before he "retired." He shows up there on a regular biweekly schedule to pick up and drop off repaired equipment. He works at home with no overhead for a shop and says he has more business than ever.
Mr. Johnson's estimate was lower than others I received, and his Angie's List rating convinced me to give him a try. He discovered that the mower blade was bent, and replaced it at a minimal cost. In short, when I picked up my lawnmower it looked like new and it works better than it has for years. I will take my lawnmower to Mr. Johnson as long as he is in the business.

Very professional; left mower for tune up and they said they would call with an estimate within 48 hours; received call back within 24 hours; gave detailed list of what had to be done with price and said that would call when ready, which would be within a week. Mower was ready in 3 days.
When I picked up mower, I brought in 2 pair of pruning shears they needed to be sharpened. Rather than drop off and have to pick up, they did this work while I waited and it was done within 15 minutes at very reasonable price.

Super folks....
This company has more flexible hours by being open Saturday afternoons.
I went to their shop, and asked for help with my leaf blower. They helped me with a very short fix in getting my repair started and then offered some additional advice on maintaining the equipment. No charge. Super helpful and super friendly. I will go back for any future repairs and services.

I had an older, but hardy lawnmower I bought from a previous owner in late 2011 that had not been used much. It had some starting issues. I brought it to Burke's for a tune up, etc. They got it up and running and I had no problems with it for the rest of the year (about 2-3 months). I ran the gas dry and stored it as per their advice and put it up for the winter. This spring I was having issues with it again. I called telling them the lawnmower I spent considerable money tuning up has only ran for 3 months and I think they need to relook their work. They were a bit reticent, and they probably didnt have to, but they gave it a second tune up and offered me a bargain price. I took it and the mower has been working fine all summer. The owner is very personable and willing to explain common problems like ethanol fuel and maintenance issues. He's also a VET and we need to support veteran owned small businesses!!

Second time I have used them.First they fixed a blower for me and had me come back to adjust once I had finished the gas in the tank and change the gas/oil mixture.Second for my lawnmower which quit working. Both times they did the job in 3-4 days and were very pleasant. Price is reasonable and they always tell you ahead how much it will be, and both times came in a few dollars under the estimate
