From the older reviews, it seems like this used to be a great company to work with. I suspect Kyle may have managed all the jobs at that time, but they have probably attempted to expand too quickly. Our project was a nightmare from start to finish. It probably should have been a red flag that they were able to start more or less immediately, whereas other popular companies in this area only take on manageable number of projects at one time. Our project manager was either stretched too thin, inexperienced, or both. Although in his initial pitch Kyle told us the project should take about 2 months and there would be people here every day, the house was torn up for about 4 months, and people only came and worked on the project about half of that time. On days that people did come, it would often just be for an hour or two. They attempted to cram in most of the work in the final two weeks of the project which resulted in a lot of sloppy finishes ("frosted glass" in our cabinets is just regular glass spray painted with "frost" colored paint, one wall of flat paint in an otherwise satin room, a window caulked 95% in a color that matches our house and 5% in white). I worry about what corners may have been cut that we can't see. Throughout the project, it fell to us to catch all of their mistakes and ensure they were corrected - hugely stressful considering the constant mistakes and oversights, some of which were pretty major. I'd hoped this would be a company we could use for future projects but unfortunately not.

Couldn't have had a better experience. To much to list here, but needless to say i was and continue to be impressed with Kyle and his crew, and have recommended him to family and friends looking to get renovations done. All have had similar positive experiences working with him.

It went perfectly! The folks from Blaylock Design and Build were professional and speedy. They did a great job.

We used Kyle in 2010 for an addition that included a bedroom and bath. Kyle is incredibly easy to work with and will address any issue you might have during and after constrution. He stays on the budget and schedule(for both jobs that we used him for). Since 2010, he started working with kitchen designer, Jake. Jake has a great eye for style. We explained what we wanted for our kitchen and he worked it all out with a computer program so we could get a good idea of what it would look like.The only problem was not being able to actually see full size cabinets by the brand Jake uses- there is no showroom. But we did get to see a few previous clients' kitchens so we got to and quot;try outand quot; the products before deciding. He also would have worked with any other brand that we wanted, but logistically it is better for him to use the brand he sells. We really love our kitchen, it turned out beautiful.

It took a few days for my call to be returned, and when I explained what I wanted, the owner said this was a smaller job than they typically handle and he probably would not be able to give me a competitive estimate. He offered to come by and take a look anyway (since I lived close by) and showed up promptly. The written estimate he provided was actually quite competitive with others. I decided not to do the conversion, and despite the reasonable estimate I would not have chosen Blaylock Design and Build because they seemed not to really want the job.

Blaylock Design and Build has to my knowledge completed a number of jobs in the Arlington Area. The company did two complete House renovations/additions on my block , as well as, another complete Master Bathroom remodel in a separate house. I spoke to the home owners and they were all very complementary. I decided to use Blaylock (Kyle is the owner) because of all the positive feedback. They did a terrific job, on budget and in much less time than we negotiated. I have nothing but praise for work performed - I would use them again without question.
