I LOVE this veterinarian and the staff!!!  Within minutes of entering our dog was warmly greeted by staff that are obviously dog lovers.  I have been to several different vets and Ohana is the best.  Dr. Medici is very thorough and explains everything.  I was made part of the entire exam from being given the opportunity to see inside my dog's ears to hearing her heartbeat and getting explanations for what I should be hearing and seeing.  I loved the extra insight into my dog's health.  I really felt like Dr. Medici had my dog's best interest at heart and not the vet business.  Dr. Medici is truly in the practice of vet medicine because she loves it and it really shows in her work.  Dr. Medici even emailed and called after our dog's vaccine to see how she was doing.  I guess the lepto vaccine can have side affects and Dr. Medici was very much concerned about how my dog would handle the it.
I finally have found a vet that I can truly trust not to steer me into unnecessary procedures.
I tend to be a very nervous "mom" and agree to anything that a vet even mentions my dog needs.  I am completely assured that Dr. Medici will never take advantage of my "anxious mom" personality and have me do any procedure that is not absolutely necessary.  This is the first vet that didn't push me into getting extra blood work panels or a dental exam just because it could be done.  In fact, I was told to wait on making a dental appointment and instead was given a product that helps remove plaque.  Dr. Medici said that dental work involves anesthesia and should never be done routinely; especially considering my dog's age.  I had always been told that routine dental cleaning in the vet's office was necessary and it was a relief to finally hear that it is a procedure that should be done with caution.
I would highly recommend this practice!  They even have one of the best patient online programs I have used for keeping up with my dog's health records and making appointments.

At Ohana Veterinary Care, it is clear that everyone in the office loves what they do. Whether by phone or in person, every experience with them has been pleasant and professional. We are relatively new to the area, and the staff went out of their way to help us in terms of obtaining missing records from our previous vet and with help registering our dogs. I was particularly impressed at our dog's annual exam as Dr. Medici gave the most thorough exam I've seen a vet give in 30 years of dog ownership, along with a detailed explanation of what she was doing and breed and age-specific concerns/things to watch for. My son even received a special gift for his good behavior at the appointment. We truly feel that our beloved fur babies are in great hands at Ohana and we have no hesitation about recommending them to anyone in Bristow or the surrounding areas.

From the first time I called to make an appointment and throughout, Ohana has provided great service and care for our dog who has had issues from when we brought her home at 12 weeks. Our first clinic provided decent care, but I never felt that they cared about her chronic issues. We also had to schedule a visit even for urine drop off. The worst was how much we were spending at our other clinic. When our dog went to Ohana for the first time, I was expecting a bill between $800-$1,000. Instead, the bill from Ohana was just under $300.
Ohana Veterinary Clinic is much different. We have been able to call and get assistance at every step. We plan to continue using Ohana in the future and bringing our cat in as well when he is due for his yearly check up.

I rode my motorcycle into the same plaza as Ohana Vet services today. On my way into the parking lot, one of the vets at Ohana, raced around me and pushed me into opposing traffic. When I confronted him about it, his response was and quot;so what, get over itand quot;. I won't begin to get into the indecency of that statement after almost killing someone, but if this is the type of person they have providing veterinary services at their location, I would be cautious about them.
Response from Ohana Veterinary Care
"I would very much like to respond to the allegations in this posting; however, there is insufficient information for me to do so. Without a description of the person and/or vehicle and the date and time of occurrence, I cannot determine with any certainty that the individual involved was in fact an employee at Ohana Veterinary Care. The additional information would be extremely helpful in preparing a response as there is only one male part-time employee at Ohana Veterinary Care. I also can find no client record under the name of the complainant. These facts make it impossible for me to offer a specific response."

One of my beautiful Bichons was accidently cut very badly on his nose/snout. As most people know, injuries to the head and facial area are prone to bleed profusely. As a pet parent, I was a little (a lot) panicked and my first thought was to just get the bleeding to stop. The incident happened at approximately 6:30pm and I thought to my self, and quot;Darn, Ohana just closed at 6:00pm...maybe they're still there, let me just try and call.and quot; Thankfully, they are now open on Tuesday evenings until 8:00pm! I was able to get my baby there and have them give their usual GREAT care! I was met at the door by two of the wonderful techs who promptly took him straight back to Dr. Medici. They not only fixed my baby up, they calmed me down as well! I took him back for his follow up appointment and he has healed perfectly.
I also have a Bichon who is a diabetic. Since his diagnosis in June 2012, he is now acting like a puppy and is a very healthy 10 year old. Dr. Medici and staff over the last year have guided his care perfectly!
This is the best veterinary practice I have ever used! Everyone is extremely knowledgeable, professional and caring! They definitely got the name right...Ohana...Family!

dr. Medici started out with a promise in an article prior to the Ohana veterinary clinic opened and in the article you are led to believe an angel was born. The reporters can give you misleading facts that are not always true. The article portrays the doctor as a caring individual about both customers and clients (animals). That is not always the story-on the surface you are led to believe one thing to get you in the door with promises made, behind close doors promises are broken and you then have or are left with a animal that suffers. In the everyday world and the business world everything is about money does not matter if it is cash/credit card-etc. In this world there are two types of people those who truly care and will break there necks to help others less fortunate due to circumstances beyond their control/and there are others that on the surface give you a smile promise the world then the old adage a knife in the back. I am a type of person who is now less fortunate ( I suffered a heart attack 6 months ago-and in the 6 months after I have lost 1 job/my entire savings/and I am severely behind on all other bills--that was just a little back ground info). Getting back to the present I have only found 1 veterinarian that was worth a grain of salt-her name Dr. Rhine she had an office in Maryland she truly did care about her customers/clients. In the past I have brought into my home rescued cats that had no home-(abandoned by previous owners or feral cats born in the wild)-Dr. Rhine would allow me to pay her on account as again I was not well off to begin with-but with all my heart I truly care about the welfare of animals. I paid every bill as promised never had an issue-she was truly a great and caring person and veterinarian. I and Dr. Rhine have since moved on-her career took her into another aspect of animal care-and I have moved too many miles away. In the past few months I had to cats that had to be put down-1 was about 18 years old-he became listless 1 day did not think anything about that/thought maybe just age-turned out broken tooth infection etc-I called to see if I could take him in to see if I could get some help (in the past I had set up arrangement to pay dr. Medici and Ohana veterinary care by account-again I paid as promised)-this time the office held their ground and stated without cash/credit card no apt/I had a sickly animal that was suffering possibly dying and I couldn't get the help that I had always received-what changed-growth-went from 1 veterinarian to 3 in a span of 3 years-the original small hometown care was lost-big business had come to town to stay-I had to call back crying my eyes out just to get help-that's pretty sad-my cat was put to rest-again the payment was made was made as promised, as I said it would be. The office politics are pay cash or pay by care credit or credit card-no wavers. In all the time that I have dealt with Ohana veterinary care I had always paid on account-paid in full-never wavered. I keep my word have no double standards as dr. Medici and Ohana care has shown with the growth of her office. I make this claim they care more about money than the care of the animals they so proudly boast about the help. There is an old Italian saying help others as you may never know when you will need their help. Life is never easy and we all need help at some point-dr. Medici and Ohana seem not to care any more-so the newspaper portrayal of an angel has shown to be false once again. I wont set foot in their office anymore and I shall spread the word.

I took my 12 yr. old dog to Ohana Vet Care after a previous Veterinarian had charged me $480 with no diagnosis. The dog had a huge lump the size of a naval orange under it's jaw. Dr. Medici examined her. She explained everything in detail as she was examining my dog. She suspected lymphoma, but wanted to do a blood test to confirm. 3 days later I had a diagnosis with a $167 blood test and a very smart doctor. I can't say enough good things about this practice and Dr. Medici. She is kind, compassionate and caring, as well as knowledgable. Also, very reasonable priced. My Mia passed away about 3 weeks after that visit, and a short time later I received a lovely card in the mail, signed by all the staff members and the doctor. Now that is a class act. I only wish I had found Dr. Medici sooner. I would highly recommend her and her staff for care for your loving pet.
