how everything turned out! It is honestly a dream come true! We were very
meticulous about everything (it is our kitchen, after all, and we wanted it
perfect) The Homepro team was very professional during the whole process.
Homepros did a phenomenal job and even customized some parts exactly how we
wanted them! Everything was perfect! Including the customer service. They
have followed up and came back out on 3 different occasion to fix some
minor issues that any remodel job entails, so they back their warranty.
They were very friendly and I trusted them in my house at all times. We
will definitely come back to Homepros for our next remodel job!
I highly recommend them!
I would highly recommend Jeremiah from HomePros for any work that you need done in your home.
"We started out this project with the hopes of helping the customer finish a basement room based on a financial budget that worked with them. The customer was not able to put down the money as per HomePros usual contractual terms. Going against HomePros normal means of contract terms and conditions, we offered to work with them based on the customer giving us $1000 a month. We also gave them a 10% discount due to their financial situation. The home owner was to be responsible for purchasing their own materials and carpet. Home Pros issued a change order for the electrical work that the customer wanted to add. Home Pros schedule an electrician to meet the home owner out at the residence on 2 separate occasions, only to have the homeowners not to be at home to let the electrician in. This does not include a minimum of 4 other times HomePros work crew was unable to gain access to the residence. Some of the times [member name removed] was found to be sleeping, others instances where due to [member name removed] not being able use his remote lock on his front door properly. HomePros paid an electrician a $100 service fee each time they came to the residence but could not gain access. Home Pros was ready to install the carpet. However, at the last minute the homeowner change their mind and wanted to go to Lowes. Lowes had a sale going on for free installation of carpet purchased through Lowes. HomePros tried to explain to the customer that in the end it would be cheaper to go through our supplier due to the fact that the price per yard of carpet was cheaper and even with Lowe’s free installation they would pay less with HomePros. At that point the customer requested we cancel the carpet with our supplier, The homeowner sent extremely unprofessional emails and refused to acknowledge that their decisions were costing Home Pro’s unexpected expenses to complete the job. At that point, Home Pros decided it was in the best interest of the homeowner and our company to no longer continue the engagement. The only work that was left to be done was for the home owner to purchase the carpet and put in some light fixtures. There is still a $500 payment outstanding on the homeowners or original contract along with the $827 change order they approved and signed."
The details matter though. Lots of smaller items were not well-finished or required attention afterwards from other contractors, especially the electrical work. One electrical outlet was not grounded and the polarity was reversed which caused our big screen television to blow out. Several electrical outlets were loosely installed and had to be repaired. Pot lights were not installed where requested, and the bulbs had to be replaced at additional expense to get dimmer capacity. Dimmer was not installed as requested in one area, and the light switch was misplaced in two others. All of these problems were corrected by a second contractor at my expense.
More troubling though was trustworthiness and professionalism. Some jewelry disappeared (can not positively point to these contractors, but the signs point to the electrician or someone on their team being responsible). An exterior iron railing was broken off from its brick footings and we were not told nor did we discover it until later after the job was completed. Other household and personal items (two glass table tops, a pair of expensive work boots, a fleece jacket) turned up missing once the work was completed. Contractors returned unused material to Home Depot, but failed to return receipts. Also failed to acknowledge or return phone calls and emails trying to address problems.
I regret writing an unsatisfactory review because I liked these guys, they quoted a fair price, did most of the work satisfactorily on an aggressive schedule, replaced some broken items at their own expense, and left a little money on the table for work unperformed. But the problems - the electrical, the missing items, and the end of communications-are as troubling as the work that was otherwise good. As I continue to find problems that need to be rectified, and without return phone calls from the contractors, my overall satisfaction with their work diminishes. Details, workmanship, finishing, follow-through, and trust, are critical to project and customer satisfaction.
"Okay (Member name removed) I am putting this out for anyone to see, My name is Jeremiah Bruce owner of homepros Contracting. (Member name removed) I can not believe you have not removed your derogatory statements against me and my men/ company. As you stated we took on your project and completed in the short time frame you had before your child's birth. (Member name removed) I know for a fact as well you do that none of my men I took any of your belongings. You also know as well as I that I would have happily followed up with the one month and one year walk through had you not made your last minute decision to bring in a friend of family... to save money on your electrical. Bottom line is I am blown away that after the fact I made something happen for you that no other contractor would, you have the audacity to attempt to label me and or my men crooks and have given you plenty of time to correct yourself. If that were even close to the truth obviously there would have been some sort of consequences AND THERE WERE NONE. YOU (Member name removed) ARE A...............LIAR. I honestly thought you were an honest guy that made a mistake. I would bet the farm you found whatever you thought was missing in that well organized pod and garage but could not find it in yourself to apologize to us."
