Bart is a very honest professional. He gave me a quote to replace my very old boiler almost 2 years ago. I didn't get around to contracting with him until this spring. Based on inflation and other factors I expected a 10% increase - it was more like 2%. He did a great job and his work resulted in significant savings on my heating bills. I called him earlier this week when or AC quit working. I was out of town - he said it would probably be a couple days. I was concerned because my wife was home with no cooling. Bart sent me a text late that afternoon that he was headed to the house. I expected to hear I needed a new unit. Instead, I got a call from my wife that it was all fixed - Bart replaced a capacitor and cleaned the coils. The cost was much less than I would expect. Start to finish it took 1 1/2 days. They were impressively professional. I once worked with some NASA veterans and they reminded me of the space agency people. They were great and they were reasonably priced. They were very responsive, able to come out the next day. They are the only ones I would use for work.

Fire and Ice was one of four services we called to check out our furnace system. We just purchased the house, and our home inspector and a gas company worker both warned us that the rise on the exhaust pipe might not be to code. Fire and Ice was the only service that did not want to charge us an arm and a leg to do an estimate. Instead, we paid him $80 for a tune up, and he took a long time measuring the exhaust system and determining whether the pipe was steep enough to adequately release carbon monoxide.
He saved us hundreds of dollars by figuring out that the system was installed in an unusual way, but safe and up to code. This was amazing, as my husband and I are first-time homeowners. He could have installed a new system and charged us $800 and we would have been none the wiser. An excellent experience.

What set Bart apart was that he worked with us to solve the issue we faced - how to get a 16 SEER system to qualify for local and federal tax rebates at no added cost beyond the quotes we'd received from others for 13 SEER. He researched and located a Heil system that fit us to a T, and actually SAVED us money over the 13 SEER systems we'd been quoted. He came up with a two-speed system that made an immediate impact on the effectiveness of our cooling, despite no change to our vents. Because we got the higher efficiency system, our utility bills will be lower than they would have been.

Consumer Reports says that installation quality is more important than the manufacturer. We were very impressed with the care and attention to detail that Bart and his associate took to ensure excellent work. They were neat and considerate, since the process took 2 days rather than just one (due to vagaries of our townhouse), and it was a pleasure having them in our home.
