I called HMH to fix a light fixture in my sewing room.  After several attempts, Mr. Harlow did locate a replacement ballast but it was very expensive.  Finding replacement bulbs in the past had been difficult and expensive so, at his suggestion, I opted to replace the fixture itself. This turned out to be less expensive and I can now use regular light bulbs.  I also had him install three electric lamp poles along my sidewalk from the driveway to the front door.  I was very impressed with how clean the installation of the lights was.  I found Mr. Harlow to be prompt, courteous and professional in all my dealings with him.   I appreciate his experience and the guidance he provided me regarding the lamp posts selection and installation.  I am very satisfied with the end result and would highly recommend him.

Two gentlemen, including Mr. Hugh M. Harlow (H.M.H. himself) arrived and surveyed the problems promptly at the time on Monday morning they had specified during my phone call to them the week prior. They then made a quick run out to pick up the materials they needed to replace. The work on the toilet went super quick. However, the work on the sink was trickier. After trying their own industrial clog-busting chemical and their own snake (as was entirely appropriate and responsible of them do so), they realized the problem was indeed further back in the pipes. After installing new PVC piping under the sink they trekked downstairs to find the back-up and found an un-ideal set-up. Nonetheless, they cut away an old copper drain pipe and sure enough found a huge clog at the end of the line that had built up long before I moved into this house. They scraped out the clog, and installed new PVC piping where they had cut out the old pipe. (They took only a small portion of the copper and left the rest, assuaging my fear that they wanted to cut the old pipe away merely to be able to claim some valuable copper.) Now the drain runs faster than it ever has for me. The only annoyance I experienced was because dealing with the clog was more of an effort than they figured at first, roughly double the labor time they originally quoted me on was added to the final bill; but that was just because of the circumstances and entirely justifiable. Both gentlemen were gracious, professional, courteous, and positive the entire time and explanatory of the issues as they arose.
