Dan Long of Long Plumbing is great. Very responsive, punctual, professional and his estimates are exactly what he bills, or less. He's not happy until we're 100% satisfied and he was back out the next day to make a minor correction for us. He will be our go-to plumber for all projects going forward and I highly recommend him.

While working with an electrician doing repairs we needed for a closing we mentioned to him (see my review for Enquist Enterprises Inc) we needed plumbing work. Justin immediately called them and ask them to come out then since we were there. In no time they showed up (and even though the house was vacant, they left their shoes at the door) and completed the needed items done quickly, efficiently and for a reasonable price. They would be ones I sure would call in an emergency!!

We decided to have all the copper pipes in our house replaced because they were getting thin and had begun to spring pinhole leaks. So we called Mr. Long for an estimate and he showed up as scheduled. His estimate was very reasonable, so we planned for him to start work the next week -- but the storm hit and we lost power for 4 days.
He was very accommodating and started work the following week. The job took 2 days and he made sure we had water before he left on day 1. He had to tear out some of the drywall to gain access to the pipes, and he covered the holes with easy access panels in 3 places where needed. We are completely happy with his work and would not hesitate to call on him again.
I would highly recommend Long Plumbing to anyone who appreciates honesty, efficiency, and good quality work.

Currently I am handling the affairs of my father who lives in Collinsville (I am in Richmond). My father told me the night before that he had worked on unclogging the bath drain for two hours that day and could not get it cleared, and also that the cap to the clean out valve in the back yard was broken and laying in the yard. Not knowing who to call in Martinsville for a plumber I could trust to go to my father's home and make the repairs I joined Angies list and looked for a plumber. I saw great reviews for Mr. Long and called him the next morning (March 5th) and told him the problem my father was having at his residence and Mr. Long said they would be by that afternoon to correct the problem even though his business was 30 miles away. Later that evening Mr Long called to let me know that he had fixed the drain and valve cap and what he found with the leaking pipe in the basement and what was needed to repair. He let me know that he had left an estimate with my father for replacing the leaking pipe and for replacing the kitchen faucet that I told him to look at. I gave him the go ahead for the pipe and faucet replacement and he has made plans to come back and make both repairs. When I ask how much I owed him for the work that day he told me to just wait until he came back and fixed the pipe and faucet and he would give me one invoice. In this day and time company's are all about the money but yet Mr. Long was telling me to just wait to pay him when he finished the other work.
Mr. Long is a true professional, polite and honest and I would recommend him to anyone with a plumbing problem, he went out of his way to insure me that I could trust him to do what was right and I will use him in the future if the need exists.

I recently hired them again to do some indoor, routine plumbing, with the same wonderful results

A new access panel had to be cut into the concrete so that the necessary work could be performed. A fantastic job was done, and I am completely satisfied with the results.

Dan and his employee came in and removed their shoes and got right to the problem of the kitchen sink. He fixed it quickly and efficiently. Not only did he fix the sink but he rerouted the flexible pipe so the sink would drain properly. I wasn't planning on him fixing our running toilet but I asked if he had time and he completed and fixed it too. He had to replace all the insides out but he made sure it wasn't leaking and stayed a few extra minutes to make sure the problem was remedied. He did a great job!

time, diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly. Would definitely use
again.

I could go on and on about how nice and honest Dan Long was, this was one of my best experiences ever!!! You can be sure that I will be both recommending him and calling him myself on anything I think he might be able to help me with.

You know how people who have lived somewhere for a long time know exactly who is best to call to fix things? The Long's are the ones that get called when those in the know need plumbing services. Two super nice, honest, and knowledgeable guys that come in and get the job done quickly and professionally. The price for the work they performed was outstanding.

I can't say enough about how pleased I am with the work they performed. All for a price that came in well below what I was expecting.

This is my first Angie's list review, but I'm going to have to figure out how to nominate these guys for the hall of fame list.

Everything went just fine. No complications.

After attemtping to reach another plumber with minimal success. I chose to reach for Angie's list and found that the Long Plumbing company was recommended on the list. I had a toilet that would not flush completely and asked if they would evaluate my situation.

They were very friendly and responsive to my needs. In addition to the work that they did on my toilet I had them add a ball c*** valve on my line to facilitate cleaning a trap on my incoming line. Lastly, I had them place a device for facilitating quicker return of Hot water to my kitchen sink. I found them to be knowledgeable about new products and expeditious in their work. I hope my plumbing needs are well taken care of at present, but I woulod not hesitate to have them return in the future if I were tohave any future needs.

Once again Angie has saved the day for me!! : )

I had been looking for a plumber and had checked out Angie's list as a member. When he called and asked me if I knew of anyone to call because they didn't have any water. I immediately gave him the name and phone number and I'm glad I did.

I was very impressed with the Longs. They were able to respond to my request for an appointment immediately, as they'd finished up early on another job. One worked on the upstairs toilet, the other on the downstairs, and they completed the work in about an hour and a half. They were very pleasant and professional, dismantling both toilets (and one of them is the big older model) to diagnose and repair. I hated to downgrade them to a B on quality, since they did a fine job repairing the leak. The flushing also improved, but I noticed later it still was having some issues. They had told me to call if there were any problems, and I knew they would respond quickly. However, a friend showed up and suggested adjusting the water level in the tanks, which completely fixed the problem. Nonetheless, toilets can be tricky things, and I would still not hesitate to call the Longs for future plumbing problems.

It went very well. My old house had both copper and steel pipes. It looked like a mess with pipes running everywhere. If you read my report on the company called Turdbusters, you would know that he left us with less water pressure then when he came. So I went to Angies List for a recommendation. I saw there was another member who used Long Plumbing and had a re pipe done with the PEX pipe. I did limited research on the PEX pipe and found favorable things said. Of course, with every product there are negative elements. Nothing in this life last forever. Everything decays in time. But, I was satisfied with the product since it would be in my basement outside of the elements. I called Mr. Long for an estimate using the PEX pipe. Needless to say they repiped my basement with that new PEX pipe. They removed all of the old steel pipe and any debris, and cleaned up nicely. He used red and blue PEX so in the future we would be able to simply follow the color if there was a problem. When he removed the old pipe it really opened up the area from cluttered piping previously used. I was put off a couple of days because he had to go to an emergency, but I understood that. He made sure we had water before he left, to take care of a person who had no water because their pipes froze. It had just snowed about 4 inches. I think this was very nice of Mr. Long to ask me if it would be OK. I said it would be fine because I could have been the person who had the frozen pipes and I would be at the mercy of another homeowner who had water at that time. I would use this man again. I felt very comfortable with Mr. Long and his helper. He said he stands behind his work and I can call him anytime.

Mr. Long called at the time he said he would to confirm the appointment, and arrived promptly. He quickly diagnosed my problem and had a new tank on his truck for immediate replacement. He was very nice about letting me mail a check the following Friday (payday). I was very pleased with his professionalism. The quality of his work seems to have been excellent - at least at this point, five days after the work, everything seems to be working perfectly.

Mr. Long and his brother were absolutely professional. They showed drove all the way up to Christiansburg to do the work for me. They arrived on time, were very polite, and got to work right away. The job was a bit easier than Mr. Long had anticipated, so he actually gave me a break on his original estimate. If we were staying in the area, we would certainly call Mr. Long any time we had plumbing needs.

He was great. He came out after hours for me. He came back out a couple times to make sure that he had fixed the running toilet. He was very nice. I recently called him about a concern of mine and he spent half an hour on the phone with me answering all of my questions. Instead of coming out he taught me how to take care of it over the phone. It was very cool. I give Long Plumbing all A’s for the service. I will use him again in the future.

It was a bit of a troubleshooting dilemma - some things just didn't add up. But Dan and his helper stayed with it for a few visits, on and off, and they got it working - no trouble since. This guy is the real deal - you should hire him if you need a plumber. For my money he is the best in the Boones Mill area.
