We contacted James in April 2017, needed waterproofing and finishing BM (water breach). Initially prompt and professional. Demo'd wet dry wall and abated mold. During furniture cleanup for mold, it started raining. He was 80 percent finished, left and never came back to complete. He did come back to collect $6000 for the demo and cleanup. We called repeatedly but he never returned to rebuild the basement which he had demolished. He said he was busy and would call us when he was available. Never heard back. We called again in Fall 2017, told him it was getting cold in basement since he had torn down walls and never rebuilt. After 5 month absence he came out, gave bid of $50,000. Asked wife if he could start next day. She tells him she needs to discuss with husband; he tells her "you have a serious problem here, this needs to be addressed immediately, I hope you make a decision soon, you need to get this taken care of, ok I have to go now and get some other work lined up for tomorrow." He appeared agitated and left abruptly. If it was such a serious problem, why did he vanish from the job site from May to September?

We need to fence our backyard a couple of years ago. We made several phone calls to get quote. James Barton's price is not the lowest, but we felt he seemed professional. He finished the work in one day, with one year warranty. Till now the fence he installed still look good.

James was hired to fix another contractors work on a home we had just purchased. The originally hired contractor was given an empty house to perform a complete renovation from top to bottom. The original work did not meet building codes, contractor hired unlicensed sub-contractors and left us with two consecutive floods in a basement he had fully renovated. Our dream house purchase turned into our biggest nightmare. James, presented to us with high recommendations, came in and provided us with a comprehensive list of all the items that needed repair/fixing.
