I refused to let him back in of fear it would get worse.  I paid him for work not done and in fact he made things worse than it was to begin with. My problem for dishing out my hard money, but worth it to get him out of my house. Poor excuse for a handyman in my opinion.  He came, he looked, but yet it was close quarters when he got in there.  He called his work shoddy himself but took the money.  I cannot and will not ever get him again nor will I ever recommend him to anyone.
Response from Handy Hands
"Customer is partially right. I attempted to regrout a section that was moldy. We chose to try this option, instead of taking up the whole floor. This was a cost saving measure that did not work."

Paul agreed to repair 5 doors on our rental that either needed to shut all the way or have work done on the knobs.  He gave an estimate of 8 hours for all 5 doors.  This sounded acceptable since tenants were scheduled to move in in 4 days.  When the day came for him to work on them, he took 8 hours to ?finish? the first and start on the second.  He installed a deadbolt on the first door but didn?t support the plate properly (it?s a very old door and was in bad shape in that area) so we had to do it ourselves to keep someone from kicking the door in.  The second door was upstairs and very heavy, so rather than take it off its hinges to plane in the basement, he decided to bust away at two sides of the door frame!  This is the point when I arrived at the house and saw what he had done, but I told him to return tomorrow because we didn't have time to find a new handyman.  Tomorrow came and went with none of our many calls or emails returned.  The following day we finally got a call from him stating he was very sick and could not even return a call let alone work.  We promptly arranged a meeting time to pay him for only one door.  Because of what Paul did, my husband and I had to spend hours that we didn't have fixing what he?d done and finishing what he couldn?t.  Paul is a very nice person and I'm sure he does excel in some handyman fixes, but I don?t believe he was equipped to do this work and was in way over his head, which was something he should have told us upfront before agreeing to do the work.

It took them a very long time for a very small project. We would not have them back. There were times when the door that he put in was not put in correctly. He did not put in the lock correctly. We had him put in an interior door and it was just not done correctly and there were parts left and things like that.

On a prior occassion I had handy hands install some plumbing in a rental house.  This went very well so I hired him to do some small jobs at my house.
1.  fix rattle in attic fan....  outcome it still rattles
2 put new motion sensor on outdoor lights  ... accomplished this
3. measure for new shutter and window pane. ... got accurate measurements
4. replace light switches in kitchen.  he worked for approximately 3 hours on this and was not able to get the job done.  possibly my wiring, however he said he would not charge me for this time,
5.  changed out my flood lights... accomplished this task
he was at my house for 6 hours and charged me for the entire 6 hours according to a previously stated rate that he had given me.  He states he does electrical however I am not convinced and would have thought that after an hour of fiddling with these switches he would of admitted he didn't know how.

There is a water mark still on the ceiling and although we paid for 2 hours of work, we still had to pay well over 150.00 more and we need to get the ceiling repainted.

He looked and after some probing and the ice came off in a huge hunk.  Removed the insulator that was installed over the faucet.  Turned faucet on and full flow of water came out.  Once faucet turned off a very, very small drip was noticed.  So small that in normal temps it would have gone unnoticed.  Paul was a true professional with many sklls.
I now have someone I trust with home repairs.  Very important....if he cannot do it he won't say he can!!!!

Paul is WONDERFUL.  He arrived on time and did everything we needed in a quick and professional manner.  He goes the extra mile and seems to be able to do anything.  I would certainly call on him again for any type of "fixit".

Mr. Grice put up several window shades in my house, and checked a fluorescent light to tell me what I needed to get to fix it as the light bulbs weren't going in tightly.  He also looked around and gave me what sounds like very reasonable estimates on some larger jobs.  After the holidays I will be contacting him to finish the shades and start on some other projects.  He was on time, didn't rush himself, but didn't waste time either. A very nice man, job well done.

This individual, Paul Grice, was above the best.  He confirmed our appointment (Angie's List Special) by e-mail with an hour.  He scheduled to work with my time constraints, he confirmed the day of the appointment, he showed up on promptly, as scheduled, and he did an excellent job.  My ceiling fan looks GREAT!  He also did some trouble shooting on my microwave to determine the problem that I can't get it to work and gave us several options and is even researching the problem.

I know several people in the contracting business, but this individual is TOP of the list.

I would highly recommend him and his services.  You absolutely will be glad that you did.  The price was more than reasonable.
