Roadstar Internet Inc

I have had Roadstar Internet service in Loudoun County for 8+ years and was generally okay with them until today. Generally has been good, if very expensive, provider of broadband service especially where cable, FIOS, etc. have not been available. A couple of months ago downgraded service as I prepared to switch to FIOS, and asked about termination of services etc. Went to terminate service and their customer service staff was very rigid in their policy, are enforcing a 30 day termination of service clause for an agreement from 8+ years ago which they can't even send me a copy of. They just sent me a copy of page of where I agreed to their terms of service, which is fine, but even they seemingly do not have a copy of the terms of service from 8+ years ago. I have paid my bill faithfully, never abused the service, and been polite in my enquiries to them. If I had known or been told about the 30 day termination a few months ago when I downgraded my service, I would have given notice then. I DO NOT recommend using Roadstar not because of their actual service or even the expensive pricing, but because of their lack of customer care and customer service. I do recognize they are under business pressures from Verizon and the cable companies, but that is no excuse for not being accomodating or at least considering of their long time customers. Their rigid policies and screw-you-with-a-smile attitude are not acceptable.
