Don't miss two appointments at any time or he will never see you again, i had to miss one for family emergency in another state and i dont believe i made the other months later as i was still out of state. Never mention you are going to receive any of your care from another Dr, my mother did just that and he promptly stopped her treatment and kicked her out. His treatments are effective and his staff is friendly, Dr Ahmad needs a better bedside manner.

We had a 4-hour wait for the appointment time. Basically, he seemed to give us appointments in 15-minute intervals or even 10-minute intervals, but that is just kind of like a placeholder. He schedules 20 to 30 people, and then if it takes the first one an hour and then the next one takes 30 minutes, he just goes through like it is a roster and not necessarily an appointment. His nursing staff normally has no clue what medications people are on, so I have to go back and forth to check what medications she is on. It is like I am the one currently sitting on a computer looking at her medications. It is a rheumatology practice and also he specializes in geriatrics, so it's like working on things like joint pain and rheumatoid arthritis, and a lot of that is handled with shots around the joint area, so he wants his patients to come in immediately. My grandmother ended up having pants specially altered with the zippers on the thigh because he doesn't want to bother with someone having to change or having to wait. The last time, he ended up jamming the needle and we came out just horrified and she couldn't believe it. My grandmother has a hearing issue which is not uncommon in geriatric patients, and he has made some really rude comments in front of her before to his nurse to explain things to her in her language, and the way it came across was very ethnically condescending. Apparently, even the patients have started joking in the waiting room, and he has made comments before when people have said something about the wait time that if they didn't like it, they could go somewhere else. Unfortunately, there is nowhere else to go as there is a really heavy elderly population in the area and there are not a lot of doctors, and it is also a heavily rural area, at least in terms of population. There are other doctors in major cities, and the doctor in Bluefield is the closest, but he is like 30 miles away versus the one in Charleston or Huntington or Wheeling. We spend 4 to 5 hours in this guy's office, but if we go to other people we are going to have a 4 to 5-hour round trip plus doctor's appointment and we have also got the added expense of driving that much, so we are stuck. Solely from a medical point of view, he has helped her, but it has been a lot to go through for that, and whatever he does works. His office is clean. His support staff is really nice and seems to have a clue what they are doing, but it just gets uncomfortable being there. We have never had a problem with the billing, and they have always been really helpful. I will continue to use him.
