Fine. Staff is friendly and they take you in a timely manner and visits are quick. Their prices may be higher than other vets in the area and one of my medications that I use was exorbitant. I ordered a medication for my dogs my previous vet used. Main Street does not use it so it was much higher. I now know to ask prices first.

Dr. Dallman is an extraordinary vet. I have been taking my senior cats to him since I moved to the area a few years ago. Last year one of my cats (9 years old at time) had a cancer scare. Dr. Dallman helped diagnose my cat's rapid weight loss. When we found the tumor I was referred to the vet school oncology group, but Dr. Dallman stayed involved as I had the initial biopsy done. He spent time to consult with me once I knew what the options were. I chose the moderate surgery option and went to Dr. Dallman for all follow-ups. I am thrilled to say that one year later my cat is doing great! In addition to helping with my senior cats, I found two days-old kittens in September. With frequent check-ups Dr. Dallman has helped me raise these two tiny orphans into healthy rollicking kittens! During my visits the staff has always been wonderful. Everyone truly seems to care about my kitties as much as I do, especially Dr. Dallman.

They are friendly with my animals and they treat them like they were their own pets. Their fees are much less expensive than the vet we had been using.

I trust them with my dog who is a member of my family. I don't think any more can said then that.

I came home from being out of town over night and found my cat lifeless, but alive. I took him to the vet the next morning. I was upset and crying. The staff and vet techs were so supportive and compassionate. Both vets checked out my cat, and one vet tech in particular was amazing. She took extra special care of my cat, and her level of compassion was out of this world. The people who worked there were comforting and supportive. The vet tech ran blood work and took x-rays. Something was wrong with one of their machines that reads blood levels (not sure what), so they took the blood sample to Va Tech's Vet School. All came back okay, but left us with the mystery of what was ailing him. They gave my cat a shot of antibiotics, and by the end of the day he was feeling much, much better. (I honestly thought he was going to die.) Now he's running around being his typical silly self. At the end of it all, the check-out staff reminded me that I qualified for a student discount, even as a PhD student, which was nice because the bill was kind of steep (for a poor grad student), but appropriate.

My cat has been having digestive issues for quite some time and had seen two other vets to diagnose the problem with no luck. I felt like the other vets did a poor job, were over priced (and also did procedures that were not asked for to raise the price of the bill), and worst of all, they left my cat still sick. North Main Small Animal clinic is nothing like the other vets that I've been to. The people were all very nice and listened to all of the symptoms my cat was having and asked questions to determine the right diagnosis and did not rush us through this process. The vet and 2 nurses all carried on a conversation with us about what the issue could be and the cheapest plan of treatment. We ended up getting some blood work done and placing my cat on medication for his pancreas. Each staff member was very nice, genuinely seemed to care, and they were good with my cat. I was just really impressed with their level of care! Also in addition to having fairly low prices, they offer a 10% student discount!
