Not all that well. The guys are great people, we tipped them $100 each, but perhaps this work was a bit beyond them. We selected them because they advertised in the Ashburn, VA  HOA newsletter.

They misbid the job (at only about $8000), then called to say they had misbid and had to double their bid. We still took them. After 4.5 weeks, they realized they were going to take 5 weeks for a planned 4-week job --and  so rushed last day or two, making mistakes. Poor quality in areas.

However, to their credit, they responded and corrected problems after a first round of corrections we requested.

Our greatest issue was their failure to properly cover (tarp) our carpets and to control dust from sanding.  About a week into the job, I had to ask them to use plastic over the stairway bannister which was becoming discolored. That night, I slipped on stair carpet slick with wallboard/paint dust. Grabbing the banister, the plastic slipped down under my hand, causing me to fall down the full flight of stairs. I was quite injured and limped for weeks.

These fellas are from the Shenandoah Valley and among their work is barn painting, apparently. I felt working our large house job (to prep our 3,500-foot home for sale) was a bit beyond their sophistication.  My wife was critical of painting quality at times. We noted they seldom if ever used painters tape or other measures to assure straight lines.

On the plus side, the bid was massively below the competition and fit our needs to do a big job at as low a price as possible. We thank them for that! We were on a tight budget.

Clearly, howerever, their bid (even when doubled) was still too low for them -- they had to rush to finish the job and get out, and they were a little coy about their hasty last day or two of work.  Another contractor working on our house at the same time reported that by his experienced observation, JETT lost much time due to disorganized work amongst their four-five people on our job. He was also surprised by the lack of dust control.

To be fair, I told JETT that carpeting was going to be ripped out and replaced. They may have taken this as license to be messy and treat the job as a house "gutting." I suspect this was the problem.

Nate Tilley and Jett Painting were contracted initially for completing a complete exterior paint job on my 1888 home in a traditional 4-color paint scheme.  Of all of the companies I got quotes from, Jett Painting gave me the most fair quote for the fact I was using multiple colors on my trim work.  I worked closely with Nate to pick complementary colors, and they executed the job perfectly.  The prep work was very time consuming, as the house had been whitewashed previously, and all of that needed to be removed before painting could occur.  They powerwashed all of the stucco multiple times, and power washed and hand scraped all of the wood trim.  The paint job was technically more challenging, because of the increased number of paint colors, but it looks beautiful.  My home went from the ugly duckling on the block to the best looking one!  As well, they also had to do some minor repair work on the wood around my soffit, and also replaced the wood sills for two windows in my addition.  I love the fact that it is a one stop shop for getting everything I needed done!As well, they have also completed drywall work for me, and some minor interior painting.  I have hired them again to complete the painting on my shed.  I strongly recommend them for all of your painting needs!Nate is very responsive and professional, and he is also VERY fair with pricing and fees.  A+++ for Jett Painting!

I tried to paint and was not able to complete the work so I called them to come out to finish the work I started. They were very responsive to complete the work in a decent amount of time and for a reasonable price. They were very good company and I would use them again in the future.

The finished job is terrific! They were punctual, communicated very well, and worked very hard through about 3 weeks. Up to 4 painters were here making the disruption minimal. They wanted to make sure we approved and took care of small list of spots immediately. We had variety of paint brands to pick from. We only got one other estimate but JETT was a bit better. All in all, they were great. Nate is very responsive.

There were a few issues, but this company was extremely responsive and always, repeat always, back their work and made me feel comfortable. This type of customer service is like finding that needle in the haystack and I did find it with Jett.

The estimate I was provided was very low, which should have set off warning bells. I asked them to estimate what it would cost to replace and paint the trim. I assumed (again, my fault) that the estimate covered both sides and the windows. They basically underestimated the work and my neighbor had to end up finishing the job. Thanks to him I avoided being fined by my homeowner's association. It didn't seem like they new what they were doing and I just wanted them to leave. The job was half finished and based on the quality of work they had done, I didn't want to ask them about the other side of the roof (which obviously needed the wood replaced). My neighbor said that he understood from them that they were mainly interior painters. That would make sense. I would hope that their interior painting was better.

The job went great. We had cracks in the walls from settling, and the walls were dirty in places from our dogs. Jett Painting arrived when promised, and there was minimal disruption. They patched the cracks so there is no evidence. The rooms look excellent. Would definitely hire Jett again.
