Auto Body Work, Wheels and Tires + 1 more
The insurance estimate called for replacement of the LF tire. I discussed this with Jay Mckee, and that I would be replacing all the tires. He didn't listen and replaced the LF tire and had it shaved down to match the other 3 worn tires. Now I have to buy 4 new tires instead of 3. His response was I AM SORRY.
Response from WRAY'S BODY SHOP,LLC.
"I am sorry for the missed communication. Had I known that you intended to replace all four tires I would have had you do that before the repair. Shaving tires to the correct diameter is done to ensure that the traction control and anti lock brakes preform properly and must be done. Jay normally takes very good notes and I am not sure why I was not notified of the fact that you had intended to replace the other three tires. Sorry for your inconvenience. Steve Wray"

Auto Body Work
I bought a used 1999 Isuzu Rodeo (6 cylinder, 4WD) from a local dealer. Two days after I bought it I noticed that my tail lights, marker lights, and instrument panel lights (speedometer, tachometer) were not working. Also, the hood release lever in my vehicle was missing; all I had was the frayed end of the metal cable to pull to open my hood. I called around to several local shops and Wray's was the only shop that would even talk to me about the issues I was having. Being a female, I appreciated the fact that they did not treat me like an inferior being. I was told I had to bring it in so they could look at it. They had it for a few days; I dropped it off on a Friday evening and did not get it back until the following Friday. Evidently an emergency came up and they had to take care of that, but I had to take two personal days off from work because I was waiting for my vehicle to be repaired. Anyway, it got to the point where one of the guys at the shop brought a tool from home to try to diagnose my vehicle, which I very much appreciated. They finally figured out that my stereo was the source of the problem as far as my lights went. Whoever had my vehicle before me had installed the stereo themselves and messed up the wiring, plus the stereo itself had a short in it which was in turn shorting out the fuses for my lights. They removed my stereo completely and corrected the related wiring errors in my dash. I was told that if I hadn't brought it in there was a possibility they could have touched metal, sparked, and caught on fire! Thank goodness for those guys fixing it for me!
As far as the hood release lever goes, it was a factory part so it had to be ordered. Understandable, as most of those levers usually aren't yanked off randomly like mine was :) Also, my vehicle is no longer manufactured. The hood release lever and cable took about a week and a half to come in. I had taken my vehicle home to drive it until the part arrived at the shop. When it came in, all I had to do was take my vehicle in for them to do the repair as I had already prepaid for that part of the work when I picked it up before. This time, it only took them half a day to install the part.
Overall, they were very quick to fix the problems (when they figured out what exactly the problem was). Also, the prices for labor and parts were very reasonable for today's economy (about $65.00 per hour for labor). I saw on the wall in their office when I went to pick up my vehicle that they were voted Best in Bedford (for auto repair) for several years in a row, and that award was also current :) I would definitely agree with that! Great prices, great service, friendly guys! Thanks for a good experience and THANK YOU Kenny for fixing my truck :)

Auto Body Work
The cost I indicated was the total for two different jobs. I've used Wray's for body work twice in the last year - once on my Audi and another time for our Mazda. I was very pleased both times with the way I was treated and the work that was done... staff is personable, professional, and good at what they do. With regard to the work on the Audi, I needed the spoiler on the back of the TT repainted. Taking the piece off would have been difficult and risked damage - so they agreed to paint it while still on the car. I understood they couldn't guarantee the job as they normally would because of those circumstances, but they did an excellent job. I would definitely go back to Wray's for work I need done in the future.
