Elite Air

The job went very well. The Elite crew arrived when they said they would, did what they promised to do and then some, and left the areas cleaner than when they arrived. The work was performed on two separate days. The first day was to replace our upstairs (attic) air conditioning unit, which was 15 years old and not holding a charge. They recommended a RUUD gas unit, which they installed within a couple of days. The unit they quoted was not available so they provided an upgraded model for the same price. Getting the unit into the attic meant taking apart the trimwork around the access panel. When they finished, they left the room as clean as they found it, and all I needed to do was repaint the trim after they had put it back in place. Our downstairs unit still worked, but it too was a 15 year old builder grade unit, so we opted to have that replaced with a RUUD unit as well, and we also asked for a quote on our gas hot water heater. The quote was reasonable, and included a high-efficiency humidifier, upgraded filter system, a "hot water bottle" appendage to the hot water heater, and a separate return in the basement wall to the system (a louvred door was our only return in the basement). Again, the crew arrived on time, completed the work in a day, and left the basement area cleaner than they found it. The hot water heater turned out to be nearing its death cycle -- they could not drain the water out the bottom because of all the sediment buildup. Imagine how heavy that thing was getting it outside so that they could smash it open. They made it happen with no complaints (or extra charges). The work outside was also very professional. Both units, even though much taller than the originals, were neatly mounted above ground on the existing brackets, and they also caulked other areas on the side of the house that needed refreshing. Bottom line: we are very happy with the work the guys did. The new system is so quiet we thought something might be wrong. We would use them again without a second thought.

The service tech, James was polite and courteous, he evaluated the system we had and made us aware of how poorly it was functioning and why. Our old furnace had been installed backwards in our very tight crawl space making it incredibly difficult just for him to get to, the furnace was also sitting on the exposed ground very close to the pump that removes condensation, leaving it partially submerged in mud/water which had shorted out most of the burners in the furnace. This explained why we were running through 100 gallons of propane every two weeks! James also noted that the furnace was poorly vented, we had some missing insulation under certain areas of the house, and some vents had been carpeted over. Once we were aware of all of the issues, James presented us with an estimate for a dual fuel system (running off electricity and backed up by the hotter propane when needed). At just over six thousand including labor and installation, we knew we were getting a good deal! The new system was installed in a single day, and my family finally had a WARM house again! We are thrilled with our new system! The dual fuel Rudd system that James installed kept our heating bill down all winter and has kept up well with the abnormal summer heat. I'll be having them back out for all the servicing we need in the future!

The whole experience went wonderfully! Dustin came out the same day! He was on time and was fair with his pricing and didn't waste time fixing my air conditioner. It was a simple repair thankfully, but when I have to replace, Elite will be the only number I call.
