Greg is a chimney expert, a hard worker who is honest and his prices are reasonable. He cleaned our chimney and got out hardened creosote, repaired cracks in the crown, reset the chimney caps, and above all, told us the truth. A previous chimney company, so called, told us that our caps were galvanized steel, and were rusted. Greg was in communication with us throughout the job(s). I'm looking forward to him replacing some bricks and sealing my brick porch. We highly recommend Greg's Bash Ash Chimney Care, because he really does care.

Re chimney pointing, crown sealing, flashing recoating. Greg answered my calls and texts in a timely manner. He explained in detail how he would do the job. He did not require advanced payment. He did arrive on the agreed upon day well equiped ready to work. Based on my experience and observation his work was very professional. He did all he agreed upon and more. He texted photo of finished work. I am very satisfied.

Greg did an amazing job repairing two stone walls in front of my house. I didn t know exactly what I wanted at first but he helped me figure out the best option. It was clear that he knew exactly what he was doing! He got the job done quickly but took his time doing the work.

Greg was very professional and friendly. He assessed the job and knew how to fix it. Other companies were not as knowledgeable. The job was done in a timely manner. I am planning to use him again. He is a local company which is a plus to me.

You are dealing directly with the owner of a small business - thus no red tape and very efficient process. Greg repaired the mortar on the front step ( brick and bluestone ) - a relatively minor project that took about 3 hours. Greg did an outstanding job and I would rehire him in an instant on any future masonry projects on the house Stan

Numerous missed appointments. Called him out to repair a leak, said he would be back to seal it. Took months after hounding him to get him out to make the repair, all after he charged me $100 for a chimney inspection. On the inspection, I asked if I make out the check to safe home or to his name Greg. He said make it out to safe home and made a joke about the IRS would have a fit if he cashed it under his own name. Fast Forward to paying the balance months later for the repair. This time he said make out the check to Greg then he said and I quote That is how I am able to do the job more cheaply. I nearly burst inside because he apparently did not recall the whole IRS and Uncle Sam line he dished me months earlier.
Response from Bad Ash Chimney Care
"First of all Jeremy called me on 1/24/19 for a leak. Smack dab in the middle of winter for a free estimate. He needed an inspection so I could find the leak and then a diagnosis for the problem. I informed him of the $89.00 charge for gas, insurance, my expertise in water leaks, my time as well as the $25.37 Home Advisor charged me for his lead. He reluctantly agreed and I was out there that same week with no delay. It took me 1 1/2 hrs total time at his house and gave him a full Level 2 inspection on both his chimneys. The total price to fix his leak was $250.00. Of which the $89.00 for the insp would be deducted leaving $161.00 to be paid when I came back to do the repair. I also explained to Jeremy that the products I work with are subject to the weather and cant be used below freezing (24 hrs) and the roof has to be dry with no threat of rain or snow within 24 hrs. So he is absolutely right that there were several missed appointments ( he was called ) because of the weather conditions and he should take that complaint to Mother Nature and not me. Finally 2 months later the repair was made for the agreed price AND it stopped the leak! I am sorry that I am a small company and dont have a fleet of service vehicles like the cable tv supplier you work for. My customers are serviced as they come and weather depending. I can not put other customers off because of bad weather on your day. As for the checks go, all I am guilty of is a bad joke. LOL. I am owner/operator and can have the checks made out as I please as long as it is recorded. Sorry Jeremy your complaint is with Mother Nature and the bad joke police. You received a quality, effective and long lasting repair for a very good price. $89.00 for the inspection and $161.00 for the repair which came to the agreed price of $250.00. Also I question your timing on this complaint as the repair was made a couple moths ago. If you were really that disappointed in the repair should you not have waited so long to file it?"

Greg responded to our Home Advisor (HA) request right away and set up an appointment to review and offer an estimate for the work needed. On our first meeting he gave us a price for re-pointing the chimney both inside the attic area and for the exposed brick on the roof and installing a double liner inside the chimney - nearly a distance of 45 feet from basement to top of chimney edge. Greg gave us a date for the work to be completed with a schedule of what would be done and when. He offered a valid license and insurance information and explained the type of materials he would be using, and how the work would be performed. His work was completed in the time frame he promised and we are very satisfied with both the work and professionalism offered by Safe Home Chimney. Definitely would recommend this company.
