And, to note - We trust Chip (the owner) and his staff 100%. A few years ago, H. O. Field Electric did all the electrical work for our in ground pool, wiring for ceiling fans, electrical check for the house, and dimmers for light switches. This year (and today) we had old light switches replaced. We have referred his company out to many people who have reported back to us how wonderful, reliable, and dependable his company is. We wouldn't use anyone else.
As events would progress, the projected gas estimates came in high enough to put the whole house backup unit out of the range I had budgeted. I must interject at this point that the Amerigas representative, and company overall, really were the only SUPER thorn to the whole process. Thankfully, Feild Electric handled most of their wrinkles for me, but I still find myself bitter for the part they played (and indeed are playing....I called just the other day to request a more frequent propane delivery to keep my backup system at the ready.... and the representative promised to call me back on the matter but never did...sigh). That being said, because they were my current gas provider, we both and quot;bit the bulletand quot; and got through the unpleasant scenarios that unfolded from time to time as the installation progressed regarding their end of the deal.
I talked to Chip Feild about what possible cost/coverage options were involved with lesser/smaller backup systems, and was totally wow-ed to find that most everything important to me and more could be covered for almost half the cost of the total system....and to boot it would not involve unsightly cosmetic issues on my property nor as high annual gas rental tank fees either. That seemed enough and quot;peace of mindand quot; for me, so I opted for an 8kw system. If I lose power, I still have my freezer, refrigerator, TV, internet, hot water, septic, microwave, coffee pot, gas fireplace, garage door, receptacles for lights or possible portable fans/heaters. For the difference in cost (originally $9807) and extra cosmetic/maintenance fees..... I like my choice.
Chip even took the initiative to call Amerigas and explain to them how they could save me another couple hundred dollars on their gas charges by running their lines differently...... and this was AFTER I had already agreed to the higher gas charges essentially. Is that a great guy or what? He nor his company got any extra money for that..... he just saw a way to save me some money and helped me do that.
If you want an honest, skilled, professional to install and maintain a top-notch standby generator..... give H.O.Feild Electric a call. You won't be disappointed. The installers were always on time and did a bang-up job also. Not enough good things to say about this firm really. I look forward to their service being as great as their installation.
