Dropped truck at shop after hours w/o advance notice. Handled job w/o fuss next day. Gave me a break on alternator b/c I quoted lower parts price at local auto parts store.
Dropped the car off on a Saturday morning, and even though I had my doubts it would be finished within the timeframe promised because of the number of cars in the parking lot waiting for service, it was ready within 3 hours -- an hour earlier than scheduled! We were told that the car's acceleration would be improved because the replacement battery was better than the original one, and they were spot on. Highly recommend them if you have a hybrid with an aging battery that is giving you problems. In our case, the battery light, as well as the check engine light, were lit continuously due to the battery's condition. Replacing the battery fixed all the "engine code" issues, and we fully expect the car to last at least another 130K miles. Thanks to Mac's, we had an almost-new car at a fraction of what buying another one would have cost. A year after battery replacement, it still drives better than it did when it was new, and the "engine stop" function at red lights has been restored. The tires were cupped, but too new to replace, and the Go Green nitrogen fill extended their life by at least a year. They threw in the headlight lens polishing for free, and they cleaned the vehicle after it was serviced. Appointment was made on-line, but they followed-up with a phone call to explain the technical details, and to make sure we understood everything that would be done. Last year, they were running a holiday food drive, and you could get 10% off your bill, if you brought in a bagful of groceries. We didn't know that until we came back to pay, so check before you go and they may be offering a similar discount. Everyone on-site is extremely courteous and professional, and they are living out their faith in their business culture. Amazing customer service. If we lived closer, Mac's Service Center would be our choice for all our automotive needs.

Shortly before Thanksgiving (2013), our SUV made a "clunk" sound, and immediately stopped working. Yikes! It's our main family car, and I love "Big Red" (Our kids named him. Yes, him!). We were going to visit family on Thanksgiving, and without our car, we were going to have to do some major reworking.
We had Big Red towed to Mac's in Troy, and crossed our fingers that it wouldn't be too bad. No such luck, the engine was shot. The clunk we heard had been a retaining ring that was holding one of the pistons breaking, and when it went, the piston became lodged in the cylinder and that's was all she wrote. Not something we could have foreseen or done anything to prevent, but that's small comfort when you're left without a car!
Now, we had to think about what was best, given the circumstances. A new car was out due to budgetary concerns, not to mention the fact it was right before Christmas. Patrick (service manager and a great guy to work with) let my husband know that a brand new engine was also going to be too expensive, given that we were talking about a 2006 Cadillac SRX that had 100K+ miles on it. Oh no! Was it the end of Big Red?
Absolutely not! Patrick was able to get a used motor that had 67K miles on it (35K less miles than the dead one, woohoo!), if we were interested. Heck, yeah, we were interested! Not only did Mac's get Big Red back in shape (thanks, Mark!), but did
it in time for our Thanksgiving trip, and all for a cost that was more than HALF what a comparable used car would have been. Not only that, Big Red was washed and shiny when they brought him out to us.
All that, and Mac himself even took a video of poor Big Red up on the lift that our kids thought was super cool. Fantastic! (search their site, Vehicle Status, Repair Order 13995 if you care to see it for yourself!)
I was happy with Mac's before, but after this experience, we are Mac's customers for life!
