We had a thousand questions and they answered all of them no matter how odd. They told exactly what they would do and they did it as described and right when they said they would. We call the lead guy back again and again for air leaks around the fire place and doors that were really beyond the scope. The poor guy followed my wife all around they house with spray foam, working on doors, taking molding from around the fireplace spraying foam, stuffing insulation in unused appliance vents and they ash box for the unused fireplace.
He was the nicest guy about everything, patient beyond belief, fixing every little thing, and offering advice where he could fix it.
He did not charge use an extra dime!
We plan to have them do our attic this fall.
On the assigned date, two installers arrived on time and began by placing lots of plastic sheeting throughout the area of my house where they would be trekking back and forth removing the old dirty insulation and boards. The workers were polite and considerate as well as careful with my home. The head worker was not aware that the estimator had promised to do work in the 4th attic area and did not have enough product to do the work. This was not his fault. The fault lay with the estimator that I found out had been dismissed from the company. So the head worker called the company to get his manager to decide what to do about the 4th storage area and to get additional insulation for the job. The company was very swift in sending additional supplies and a manager came to the house to look at the 4th space.
Because the estimator was at fault, the manager said he would authorize that the 4th space would be included in the original estimate. I thought this was generous. I know that the company did not make as much money as they would have liked. The manager obviously wanted to preserve his company's integrity and I appreciated that he did not question my word or motives. I was also pleased that instead of installing R-19 batting the company used R-30 for the entire job. The estimator had specified R-19.
The work took a little longer than anticipated but I thought the men did well to do the entire job in just one additional hour. The men had been delayed by the problems with the estimate but they were efficient in their work and were well-supported by the company reaching a quick solution to these last minute discrepancies. I think it is worth asking Creative Conservation for an estimate when you are shopping for insulation installers.
