Selling a house as a short sale is a persistent waiting game. It took a year not based on offers but based on the bank changing directions over and over again. Annie spent a year calling the bank almost every day pushing the paperwork through the system. My sisters and I believe if she had not so diligently called and followed up with the bank while keeping the people interested and up to date we would have lost the house to foreclosure. During the process we lost some buyers, which restarts the bank process every time. Unhindered Annie re-marketed the house and had new offers right away. A year is a long to wait for a house but some how she kept things in balance.
It may seem like anyone can sell a house but we realized that not many would work so hard for our fathers reputation and all the while relieving our stress in the process. The hours she put into this went above and beyond. When we were looking at agents one said no - I don't sell short sales because in the end you don't make any money. If I had to guess the number in terms of hours - no less then an hour a day on the phone with Chase. Add to that professional photography, beautiful brochures, showing the house, working with the buyers and keeping four sisters up to date over a year?s time. I am sure well over 400 hours went in to the effort to sell this little house. I cannot say enough about her professionalism and work ethic.
