Up until recently it was like $173 but it shot up to over $200. It seems that the contract that I had with them was just a 2 year thing. I didn't realize that it would be such an increase in charges that I noticed. They didn't seem very willing to discount or anything like that. I am considering giving up one of the services probably the cable TV. I can get from others; I have a choice and don't have to stay with Verizon especially with what they charge. I've had them respond to me but it has taken quite a bit of searching to get to the point where I could contact them and get a response. So I am not terribly happy with that part of Verizon. They've never had to be punctual with me. I will use them at least partially especially if I drop Verizon's Fios cable TV. I am considering using somebody else; someone less expensive.

I use Verizon. I use Verizon for everything, you know, bundled everything, TV, computers, we have with them. First of all we're kind of locked in with Verizon because Verizon has country wide network that's very good. I have another house in Sedona and when we got there they had I think AT&T and it would constant drop calls. We found by experience many things have changed now but we found by experiences that they were the most reliable in terms of connection and so we went with Verizon and of course you bundle everything you put your computer and everything else. Now we haven't tried but half of the time it has become progressively more expensive. Any time you turn around it's more. So it's to the point where we're spending $400 a year, I mean $500 a month on telephone, computer and television. If they make an appointment they do show up on time.

They are okay but not great. They came out when they were supposed to, installed it, and that was the end of the conversation. Aside from pricing, if you need something like I needed a new DVD, they said I had to go to Timbuktu to get it. They were not going to send it in the mail. They eventually send it in the mail if push came to shove. I was not going 10 to 15 miles to go pick up that is broken that is their equipment. If it was my equipment, that is one thing. It was inconvenient.

Their pricing is comparative. Their professionalism is okay. The Fios is a plus but the contract is a minus.

Attempted a re-set of my FIOS serivces using all of my available options including shutdown, re-setting the router, re-setting the battery back-up, and using the automated in-home agent services I initiated a call to customer service, spoke with technical support and asked the rep to re-set my services from the box that is mounted on the outside of the house. It took approximately two minutes after Verizon shutdown FIOS and re-started the system. It worked on the first attempt and my services were fully restored.

The internet was fast and the cable has a good selection of channels to choose from. I don't loose services on my cellphone. I have unlimited calls, texts, and data.

The internet is pretty fast. Sometimes I might lose connection with that but recently, it hasn't been a problem. They keep calling me and trying to combine every service and I'm not quite sure about that.

I think Verizon had one of the better packages, that is why we chose them when we moved. For cell phone we had Verizon, then we were using another company for a while, and then went back to Verizon.

The overall experience has been very poor. I was given multiple assurances that were not fulfilled. This process has been going on over 3 months and I have had great difficulty in resolving this issue. I have spent over 11 hours on the phone during the last several weeks with Verizon reps or on hold, and have only gotten to some progress this past week. It took a lot of determination and patience on my part to get even this far. No one should have to work as hard as I have had to, in order to get phone service.
Description of Work: Since I have switched to FIOS, I have had nothing but problems with my phone: with billing, with voice mail, with undesired changes to previous phone pkg. terms, with mistakenly allowing my unlisted number to become a published number, resulting in multiple sales calls every night from 6-8pm. Over the last several weeks, I have received weekly letters informing me my account cannot be serviced since it has an outstanding.balance. The letters had different account numbers listed, although the phone # is the same. I have had but one account for many years. Then invoices started coming with the same different account numbers. Trying to get this resolved since April 23 through 1-800-H ; starting over with each different person that answers the line after long holds and 3x getting dropped in transfers and having to start over again. And Reps who were very sympathetic and promised to call back with a resolution but never did. Finally I found advice online about contacting Verizon Corporate Office in NY and getting an executive level rep. to try and straighten out unresolved problems. After 2 weeks, it still isn't done but it feels close and they do keep in touch. Unfortunately each "fix" has spawned an unintended consequence - such as dead phone lines for 26 hours one time and 2 hours another. So the process continues to unfold. It's been a nightmare of incompetence but now I at least have a designated Rep I can call and email and not have to deal with 1-800-H each and every time. I wish I could say it was all over but at least I have an ally working with me instead of against me. If your case is complex and you are not getting anywhere with the usual 1-800 crew, call Verizon corporate headquarters in NY and speak to the "Executive Customer Service" team: 908-559-1111 and God be with you!

They keep switching plans and we basically have to pay more for a minimum. We don't need very much but the base package is a lot more than what we need so we have to pay a lot more to get the base package because that is the lowest that they offer. I will probably stay with them because its easier than switching to someone else that is probably the same quality.

Their prices are high. The service is good with very little problems. They are better than the company I had before. I have wireless service which is not cheap but the service is cheap. When I called them four or five years back, when I get to the person, customer service is excellent. When they sent somebody out, I have had good luck with that too but it's hard to get to that point. They charge way too much.

They are excellent and I like their service. It is fast; we have everything bundled so we only get one bill which I like. I have been using them for about 5 years. I get good connectivity and a good quality TV picture. I will use them again in the future.

If you have a problem, you just call the 800# and they contact whoever is closest to you and send them out to fix it. I like the versatility. You can view new movies whenever you want and you don't have to wait for a certain time of the day to watch it. We haven't had any problems. I think they charge a little more than they need to. Even though I don't have High Definition I still have to pay for it, so I think their price is average. There is no competition, so they have a monopoly on the services. They are responsive, punctual, and professional.

A brief caveat before starting my narrative, I used Verizon phone services many years ago and while speaking to a customer service agent regarding a suspected billing error he volunteered that I had been overcharged for the last three years for a total of $309.00. He offered a monthly credit spread over several years but after mentioning a complaint to the FCC he promptly agreed to a full refund by check. After canceling my service I vowed never again to use Verizon for any service, however, they were the only fibre provider in town and I reluctantly called them when FIOS became available in my neighborhood. Verizon's game is to wear you down and take the fight out of you. Round one, called Verizon to request FIOS 15/15 internet service and was quoted price of $44.99 per month. Installation technician came but was unfamiliar with new modem and took several hours and calls to figure it out. A speed test resulted in 5/1 and took one week of testing and complaining to finally get numbers that approached 15/15 but were usually around 10/5, still fast and not worth raising my blood pressure I figured. Round two, billing overcharges. After receiving a bill with a $30 dollar overcharge I spoke to a customer representative who explained that the quoted price of $44.99 was incorrect and should be $49.99. I asked why the Verizon representative would quote such a price if inaccurate but she only repeated that it was an incorrect price. She said the correct price should be $49.99 which I reluctantly agreed to, again, the "wear down" tactic works great. She agreed to credit the difference but would not give me any confirmation number, only her first name. Round three, after receiving (and paying) more overcharges, I mustered enough energy to call again. After explaining the problem, the representative said that none of the previously quoted prices were valid. Exhausted and frustrated I told the representative that Verizon had two choices at this point, correct the billing mistake and refund the difference or cancel my service. To my disbelief they chose cancellation.

Shortly after FIOS installation, I noticed that I would watch a program on my new Sony TV and the volume would fade out and back in. The fade out to no volume would last for about 5 minutes. After some troubleshooting, I found that it didn't matter which channel was selected or TV in my house as they would all have it happen and it would even record the fade out on the "any room DVR" recorded programs. Very annoying. Called Verizon customer service and they sent me a new any room DVR which did not resolve the problem. They then sent me RCA antennae jack cables to connect between the DVR and my Sony HD TV instead of using the HDMI cable which did not solve the problem as I knew it wouldn't since the problem affected all of the TVs in various rooms. After a year, I said that was enough and terminated the contract. I had a double bundle service and their internet service was super fast, though their router was weak at providing a signal to my wireless components. If you live in LapLata MD, I would not suggest getting FIOS. Of note, my neighbor has the same problem and is now switching to Comcast as I did. Verizon should stick with phones and not TV cable service.
Description of Work: I moved from Brandywine to La Plata MD and had the opportunitty to get Verizon FIOS and had it installed in my 10 year old home that I purchased.

I WAS a long time customer of Verizon and if I could have used their FIOS service I would have. The rigidity and lack of customer loyalty soured me completely on ANY Verizon services.
Description of Work: I moved from New York to North Carolina. I attempted to transfer my FIOS Service to my new home. Verizon does not service my area, I went with the ONLY provider who serviced this area. When I terminated this service with Verizon I was still charged an early termination fee.

Correcting any billing or technical problem is exceptionally difficult to do because the Verizon Agents answering the phones are reluctant to taking any responsibility. Verizon Agents typically will say they can't help with the problem and then transfer you to a different Verizon Agent or office. A person must be especially persistant to resolve any problem. We are currently trying to get rid of the phone service, but they will not accept notices by email or mail. Their response is "no one knows where that goes." I also want to complain about their phone menu. I spent over 10 minutes on their menu because there is no option within the first 8 or 10 options to speak with a agent.
