FURNITURE MEDIC by Karen

After several moves with the military to our forever home, we wanted to have our furniture cosmetically touched up, as it had incurred some nicks and scratches, with a few faded areas from heavy use. The kitchen in our new house also had been refinished several years ago, but the previous owners had been rough with the cabinets, leaving some scrapes and scratches. Eric did a fantastic job touching up all our furniture, which looks so much better now that all the scratches are filled and the faded areas blended. The cabinets in our gourmet kitchen look brand new. The cost was very reasonable, all the work was conveniently done in our home, and Eric was extremely knowledgeable and patient with all my questions. Getting an estimate via email with photos and scheduling was easy as well--it's just a great all-around local company worth supporting. Other companies wanted us to bring the furniture to them and had very high quotes just for a few pieces. I'm so happy I found them and my home feels so much more polished now.

Really prompt, knows his furniture. Wilson was on time, returned with half of the chairs, took the rest ( that allowed us to have dining room chairs) the work was great. I had no idea of what it was going to cost, and only reviewed a couple of sites on what to expect in cost, He was in the ball park for sure on cost. very fast service after calling to set up appointment to drive and see what we had to work on, ON TIME - great..

Took awhile but it was not an easy job.

Eric was really good. Got the job done in 2 hours. Very efficient and cleaned up after himself.

The repair was completed within an hour and done professionally. Very little outward sign of damage. A good job indeed.

Very well invisible repair

Erick showed up, I requested him b/c he fixed this bed when I first brought it into the house. It is an organic bed that was unfortunately cut in half in order to fold it like a sandwich to get it down the stairs during a move. Typically there was a patio with balcony to lower the bed down and up, but unfortunately construction was done to close the patio not thinking about the bed. SO....Erick came and fixed the bed 1.5 years ago and it has been solid ever since. But the leg problem was there I just didn't focus on it b/c i was so worried about fixing the big stuff. Erick fixed it VERY quickly and perfectly, ran out to Home Depot, worked around my specifications on no chemicals which would negate the "organic" part of the bed. Total pain, but you had to think it through. This time Erick came back to work on the same bed, fixed the legs, ran into having to research the glue being used on the legs, and Erick went the distance to attach sliders on each wooden leg where the size matched up and the bed went from being 100+ lbs to light as a feather. Genius move to glue the sliders onto the wooden legs. I mean it is awesome x 10 now. I just love these guys. Family run business, Erick is awesome, super professional, knows exactly what he is doing, never see guys like this around here. I do back home (PA), but not in Virginia. And his dad is A-dorable, he's the one who handles scheduling. I was very appreciative that he was sensitive to what I wanted to pay for the bed versus getting rid of it.

Eric was fast, efficient and personable. He had everything needed with him onsite and when I came back, the furniture was in place and looked perfect. He warned me not to put anything on it for three days to cure properly. I was very impressed.

They did an AMAZING job! I am very particular and could not be more pleased. Price was reasonable as well. He did not have wheeled casters (we discussed this prior to the appointment) but he told me how I could order them. I wish I had a before picture for you to see the amazing difference. The top center panel was all bleached out and uneven -- he refinished it to match the other sections of the table, glued squeaky joints, etc. Fantastic!

It was very very good. They did a beautiful job. They cleaned up after themselves and were polite and warm.

Contacted Furniture Medic via email including pictures of the damage to the painted finish cabinet top.  An appointment was made in short order.  Eric was a little delayed arriving on time that day, but contacted me TWICE at each half hour to report his status - so I was not left hanging or waiting without knowledge of his whereabouts.  When Eric arrived he quickly ascertained the status of the damage and his course of repair action and quickly got to work.  He did a really great job of making the repair which included painting and distressing the damaged area to match the distressed finish of the piece.  Prior to the work being done, I had serious reservations about how anyone would go about making an acceptable repair due to the type of finish on the cabinet and the complexity of working with a painted and distressed finish.  Well, I will tell you I was VERY pleased with the result and will not hesitate to call Furniture Medic again should I ever need any repair work done to my furniture or cabinetry.  Furniture Medic by Karen was yet another great find on Angie's List!

Mitchell arrived promptly when he said he would.  He took off the legs of the table as they did not have to be refinished.  He took the table out on my carport and went to work removing the finish.  He applied several coats of stain and a sealer.  I am extremely pleased with the table as it had several bare spots and a giant stain from a bottle of grill cleaner that had spilled on my table.  The entire job took about 4 hrs.  The table looks good as new.  I paid a lot for the table many years ago and it fits perfectly in my kitchen.  I was thrilled it could be restained and looks as nice as the day I bought it.
