Jay Jelis, the design consultant, was to our house four (4) to measure for new kitchen cabinets, new tile flooring, quartz counter tops & glass back splash. On the day of demolition, the crew did extensive damage to the existing drywall in removing the old appliances, counter tops & cabinets. Mr. Jelis was told the old floor was installed with epoxy grout & flexible mortar additive because there were 24"O.C. trusses not 16"O.C. joists. This required the aforementioned grout & additive. The company had no idea how remove the old tiles & substrate & neither did Mr. Jelis. After 2 1/2 days banging with a hammer & pry bar, they finally got the tiles out. The only problem was the grout & mortar were still on the substrate. Mr. Jelis told us he was going to mortar over the existing substrate and apply the new tiles. We had to go the owner of the franchise to remove & replace the existing substrate. This added another 1 1/2 days to the project. The cabinets were either incorrectly measured or inappropriately installed which resulted in the cabinets unusable or had to be replaced. I cannot state strongly enough STAY AWAY FROM FLOORING AMERICA, ASHBURN, VA for any kitchen renovations.

We were very pleased with the service we received from Flooring America. Their manager called us promptly to arrange the installation. The installer was prompt, polite, and cleaned the area completely after installation. The work was excellent! The installation did a great job aligning the new planks in the adjoining hallway and the floors look as if they've always been there. The 1/4 round was perfect. We are so pleased with this company and we plan to use them again on another room we are converting from carpet to hardwood.

I had a great experience with FA installing 300 sq ft of engineered hardwood floors in my condo. Dealing with Abe and Jay in the quoting and scheduling process and with Mario and crew in the installation was a pleasure. Originally intended to have FA only install the floor because I was going to buy the actual floor online. But Abe went out of his way and got me the same Kahrs floor at a very competitive price, he took the time to find out what I wanted and then he explained the whole process in detail, I truly appreciate this. Jay came to measure and then Mario and crew did a fantastic job installing the floor. The whole process took two weeks from the first call with Abe to finalizing the installation. Fully recommended!!!

I purchased a $349 deal via Angie's List back in the fall of 2014.  I called Flooring America several times and asked if  i could delay the refinishing date due to extenuating circumstances (including other on-going renovations that made it impossible to clear out the areas that needed refinishing, and then deaths in the family).  They were exceptionally accommodating, no matter that more than a year had passed before I could finally schedule the work!  When I was finally ready to schedule the work, "Mo" from the front office honored the deal without question, and gave me a reasonable cost estimate for additional work I wanted done.  The floor refinishing was completed in less than 2 days by Cesar and Pablo.  They worked very hard for every hour they spent on my floors.  Their expertise and attention to detail was evident.  They consulted with me when necessary, and honored my preferences when possible.  The floors turned out beautifully, even better than I could have imagined!  They replaced damaged wood, they filled in the most egregious gaps between boards, and patched nail holes that had resulted from previous carpet installations.  Even after the floors were freshly sanded, they looked great, but once they were stained they were just amazing!  They even made the old pine stairs look good.  They installed quarter round molding around all edges and lovely transition molding between the hardwood and carpeted or tiled areas.  If I ever decide to have my bedroom floors refinished, this is the company I will call!

The quality of the materials is outstanding.  This is the 2nd time we have purchased from Floor America and are very pleased with the results.  The price is a bit higher than typical Lowes or HD but the quality is worth the price. 
I only provided a 'B' on punctuality due to a less than 24 hour change on the installation day which caused some difficulty for me in rescheduling.  However, I did receive a $50 reduction in my installation charge due to the inconvenience. 
At the show room I worked with Kevin Y. who actually had remembered me from two years prior.  He made things very easy by bringing up our file, previous preferences etc.  Very simple process, measurements are free and everyone was very friendly. 
I have had multiple people ask about our carpet because its soft and full.  I can also say the carpet and hardwood we had installed two years ago are still holding up as if just installed.  Very pleased.

It was a good experience but what had happened was the adjuster told me to ask them if they could do the New York style for my steps. (I had flooding and this was the provider the insurance provider advised me to go through) I was staying at a friend’s house when the work was being done and then next day I came back and was looking at the finished job and it was not done correctly. They only did 25 of my steps and they left 3 steps undone, which was the Waterfall style. I called this company and told them that the job wasn’t done correctly and they told me that they can’t do anything about it unless I pay an additional $500 to have it done right.

It went really well.  This company deals with inside flooring, but they ended up taking our job even though it was for an outside deck.  They worked with me to make sure the correct products were used.  The floor looks great and we are very happy with the work that was done.  They went above and beyond to make sure everything was done correctly and on time.  They sanded the floor and wanted to complete the job on the same day, but I requested they come back two days later to seal the floor because rain was expected.  He agreed and now the floor looks great--rain and a newly sealed floor does not mix.  It's really nice to work with people that understand and respect you wishes.  Thank you!

They came out promptly to provide the estimate. The quote was higher than the deal because the cost of the shoe moulding we requested. It took about 2 days to complete the work. The floors look great.

I spent about $1400. It went very well, they were on time, they completed it in the amount of time that they told me and they did a very nice job. Everything went very well. I would recommend their professionalism to others.

Superbly done.  Flooring America sent out Billy who measured the floor and recommend a variety of options for the laundry room. We scheduled and installation  When you call or visit Flooring America ask for Billy.  This is the second time we have worked with him and he is great!  We scheduled an installation date and the team moved the washer and dryer out of the laundry room, installed the flooring and moved the washer and dryer back into the laundry room and installed a drip pan under the washer as well.  Great service and we are totally satisfied with the work completed. 

They are a big company, and have branches all over. They did fine kitchen flooring, we had a squeaky place in the bedroom, but they didn't volunteer to fix that without putting it on a contract, and us paying for it. I was disappointed with that. Their pricing was average, they never claimed they were cheap. I was satisfied with the kitchen floor, but not with the bedroom floor.

The experience was good. The price was okay.

I sent an email to the company asking about radiant floors.  They responded quickly.  I went to talk to Scott at their Ashburn location and took some floor samples home.  Scott was outstanding to work with; he provided me with a lot of information and choices, and answered all my questions fully.  It only took a few weeks for Scott to get all the materials in and we were able to schedule installation within the following week.  The radiant/wood floor installers were a different crew from the carpet installers.  Both crews were on time, fast and professional.  They cleaned up very well when the left.  This was a great experience for me and I'm sorry I didn't call Scott before I put a different company's solid wood and carpet in the two other floors of my townhouse because Flooring America's products are definitely superior.  I will definitely call Scott when it's time to update my bathroom floors.

My only complaint with Flooring America was the installation. They didn't do a great job of cleaning up and they skimped a bit on some of the fine detail work. But the quality of the product was fine. But they did over order, so I have another case and a half of flooring material left over. So the actual flooring was good but the installation maybe not as good. They have a very wide variety of flooring and it's higher quality than you'd get in some places. And if fairness to them, I never called and complained about the installation because I had family members in town and it just got a little chaotic. So I didn't really give them an opportunity to come back and fix it. I've dealt with other installers that were impeccable, the way they cleaned up after themselves.

Ask for Billy and get a straight answer on all of your flooring needs.  We spoke with several other stores and couldn't get a straight answer from the salesmen.  Billy explained the whole process and how it would work from sale to installation.  Flooring met our needs and matched our existing floors thanks to Billy's color matching assistance.  Installation team was outstanding, efficient and friendly.  This is the company you should be doing business with ask for Billy and then enjoy the results;.

Contacted me promptly. Very courteous and helpful with color choice. Work crew was prompt, polite, and worked late to finish. They left it perfectly clean, and without a single nick on the freshly painted baseboards (many, many feet of baseboards). Even the remodeling contractor was impressed with their work. I would use them again.

We were very happy with the general contractor, but Flooring America was just awful. They screwed up the tile pattern and had to come back to re-do that. They also installed one box of glossy tile in the middle of a wall of matte tile, and our contractor fixed that himself. Several weeks after that was completed, tile started pulling away from the wall because they had failed to ensure it was waterproof (it's in a shower), and when they finally came back to repair that, they removed the tile, installed the waterproofing, and then didn't show up the next morning to complete the job as promised. We're still waiting, but at this point, they could make the bathroom look like the Taj Mahal and we wouldn't hire them again. Ever. Buyer beware.

It took them about three to four weeks with me consistently calling them for them to come out. They finally came out and fixed it when I told them I would complain.
