 + -1 moreEverything went fine . My dog was well cared for and they had entry access to my home. All went smoothly and the stress on my pet was minimal. Hes a companion dog , so misses his owner when im away i got him as a rescue and was told not have him around other pets. To the point boarding him is not an option. To myself hes very loving but protective. To those with long term exposure he seeks their attention. To strangers he barks. Best of Everything lives up to their name , they are prompt , mature, experienced and trustworthy. Ive used them successfully on 3 different occasions. Since I live alone its a great relief to have them as my backup when i need to leave on a trip.
Description of Work: Walk and feed my Bull Terrier twice a day for 8 days.

 + -1 moreMy husband and I (both senior citizens) agreed to dog sit our daughter's 12-week old lab retriever because Pongo was too young to board. We did well until Pongo's exuberance literally knocked me over! Luckily a large bush caught my fall, and I just got scratched! I have no experience with dogs other than petting them! I needed help immediately and Everything and The Dog stepped up, rushing my application and getting me a wonderful dog walker (Mark) in one day. Mark is wonderful with Pongo; I watch Pongo chasing sticks in the yard and thank God that I found this wonderful company. Mark has been reliable and professional, and the best part is that Pongo loves him, too! Thank you to everyone at Everything and The Dog!

 + -1 moreI have used them several times before. They get along well with my dog which is not easy. They will do additional services. They can bring in the mail and water the plants or whatever I ask them to do. They are very dependable and very good at communicating if they have anything they need to speak to me about. They do not have the lowest prices but they are worth it.

 + -1 moreNot sure if they are stretched too thin or simply disorganized, but I am (was) an existing client and requested service several weeks in advance. I received an auto-confirmation email from them for the service and then 3 days before my trip, I email some instructions and then they respond by telling me that the sitter is not available - that they are looking for one and that I should think about making alternative arrangements. I'm thinking they would never have told me unless I emailed them. This kind of response not acceptable. Also, our previous sitter with them stopped working so we got a new one throug the company. When I asked them to transfer the keys to the new sittter, they said they didn't have them. I had to find the old sitter and ask her to send the keys to us (she said she didn't know what to do with them?).

Very easy to schedule online or directly with your assigned dog walker and payments came be made online if desired.  + 0 moreI have used Everything and the Dog for years now and they always take wonderful care of my cat and the hounds. In fact one weekend we went away and I forgot to schedule service. When I called to check on them 2 days later (bad, bad momma), my dog walker informed me that I hadn't scheduled visits. She immediately headed to the house, took care of the dogs, cleaned up and spent extra time with them to calm them down. I can't say enough about this company. They are very professional and caring individuals and they make me feel comfortable to leave my pets at home and I know they will be well taken care of.

 + 0 moreI've been using Everything and the Dog for about 8 months for mid-day dog walking services. They are absolutely awesome! My walker is usually Jodi, and she's wonderful. I can't say enough nice things about her and really appreciate all she does. She definitely goes above and beyond to help with my old guy! Communication and responsiveness is superb. And my dog adores her, too. Couldn't be more pleased (unless the rates were a little less expensive). As they say, you get what you pay for and I definitely struck it rich with them!

I do not know how else I could have my pets cared for in their own home, with their own food, etc. without this service. I have used this service for several years and cannot imagine going to another provider!

They have been able to deal with our crew and any problems that had come up. They have been punctual and able to accommodate changes that had occurred at times. They have been able to handle the situation pretty well and have taken care of our needs. The financial arrangements have all gone fine; no problems there. We have tried a number of different pet sitting companies before. The company that we had used for a number of years went out of business. We are very happy with them.

 + 0 moreThe walker shows up at a consistent time that we all agreed upon. Everything and the Dog was very flexible in helping us find a time that worked for us and their walker so we would get a consistent time of the walk. The walker takes both of our dogs, let's them outside to go to the bathroom, walks them for 15-45 minutes depending on what we've asked for (and paid for of course), and then puts the dogs back securely. The walker is very good about making sure the dogs always get time outside and are secure when put away, and that the house is locked up when they leave.
Description of Work: Everything and the Dog sends an excellent dog walker to our house on a defined schedule (Tues-Fri for us) to walk our dogs for 15, 30, or 45 minute walks depending on our request. The walker lets the dogs out, takes them on a walk, and then puts them back the same way they were when they arrived.

 + -1 moreone short story, we have a 13 year old golden who is having medical issues. Nothing asked of Everything and the dog is ever TOO MUCH. They love our boy and we know they will give him the extra love and compassion he deserves while we are at work. On one particular day, our boy was sick (from both ends) and I received a call from our sitter who had cleaned up the entire house and was concerned for our boy. Even though I did not expect her to do anything except call - she cleaned everything up and was so concerned she called that evening to see how our boy was doing. This is the kind of care and service you will get and more.
Description of Work: We have been using Everything and the Dog for over six months and we could not be happier. They are prompt, considerate, accomodating and have been the best dog sitters ever. They are flexible with their/our schedules. They take extra care of our goldens and do the extra little things that mean so much to us as pet owners. If our sitter is unavailable, we are introduced to another just as loving and qualified. In the past we have had one of our goldens become ill and they made sure to be extra caring and contacted us regarding how our golden looked when the sitter arrived. I get a daily accounting of exactly what went on when the sitter arrived and if I ever have any concerns Lydia Best is absolutely "the best" at responding and caring for our goldens. I highly recommend Everything and the Dog. They will treat your furry loved ones as if they are their furry loved ones. We are still of course customers/clients of Everything and the Dog and plan to be for as long as we have furry loved ones and as long as Lydia continues to provide such excellent care.

However, on a day that the primary dog walker was out of town, the substitute dog walker lost my key and failed to inform me that they could not get into my house until 3pm. Our dog was typically walked around 11:30 to 12 every day. By the time I could get home (work in DC and live in Western Loudoun County) it was 5pm. The company's response was less than lackluster and I received a lot of excuses and never received a valid explanation for the error. In addition, I was billed for service never received.

Called them on Monday, met the sitter on Wednesday to go over the details of food and litter and for him to meet the cats (cats seemed to like the sitter on initial meeting), get a key and fill out some paperwork (emergency release, terms of service, description of pets, house information, key release). Left town Thursday night and the cats were well cared for 3 days from Friday through Sunday. He left a note that contained the times and lengths of all the visits, what he did and some description of the cats (e.g. 'this cat came out and played for bit, and that cat hid while I was around').
Description of Work: They took care of my 4 cats for 3 days twice a day. Fed, cleaned litter box, and played with the cats once in the morning and once at night. Also brought my trash can/recycling bins up to the house on trash day.

 + -1 moreI have used this company multiple times now and can't imagine taking my dogs to a kennel ever again! It's SO nice to be able to leave and not have to worry about if the dogs are stressed out or if they will have any play time. I have little dogs, so I typically have four visits/day and I get full reports of what happened each visit- my mail is always brought in and the house is in the exact same condition as I leave it. The dogs are happy and they don't smell like dog kennel!!

 + -1 moreMy dog walker, Kara, is professional, friendly, and loves animals. When she is looking after my dog, I know he's in good hands. She always tells me how happy he is to see her and how affectionate he is. With my husband's and my work schedule, it is impossible for us to get home during the middle of the day to walk him ourselves, so Kara is really a life saver. She makes sure that our dog's needs are met and she really cares for animals, so knowing this, my days are worry free. The dog walkers at Everything and the Dog will also perform other services like pet sitting, vet appointments, as well as other errands that you specify. We haven't had to do this.
Description of Work: Once a day for a half hour, my dog is walked and given water, food, and TLC. A full report is given.

 + -1 moreBefore we left, the sitter, Ilse, came to my house to see where the cat food and litter box was and talk about the job. I gave her a code for our front door and a key (just in case). She was very friendly and conscientious. Later I forgot a few things and it was convenient that I had her email address and phone number so I could contact her. As far as I can tell (of course I was not here), she took care of the house as expected. The house and cats were fine when we got home. One bonus that I appreciated but did not expect -- she wrote a little status report each day she was here, noting which cat was friendly and which was hiding, who was curious and wanted attention and who didn't. Everything was in order when I got home and I will definitely use them again.
Description of Work: While we were on vacation, came in once a day to feed my three cats, change their water, scoop the litter box, check mail, bring in the trash and stuff from the driveway, water outdoor plants as needed.
