CARPET DECOR

The installation was very fast. There were some issues. 1. There was a nail sticking out of the floor in the upper hallway approximately 1/2 inch. This was just outside the master bedroom and was dangerous. 2. Behind the refrigerator there was a gap of just over 1/2 inch from the edge of the last piece of board to the shoe moulding. The installer put wood putty in to fill up the half inch gap. 3, When removing shoe moulding in the kitchen one of the kitchen cabinets was cracked due to the force of the blow used to remove the moulding. Wood putty was used to cover up the crack. 4. A toilet was removed to put in the flooring in the bathroom and then reinstalled. I was told that a plumber was hired to do the removal and reinstallation. I had another plumber come over for another job afterward and he looked at the installation. He told me that no professional plumber would have done what he saw. The drain was not raised so there could be a good seal and water was leaking from the toilet. The toilet was not anchored securely and would slide back and forth when pushed very gently. All issues were reported to the owner of Carpet Decor. The first three issues were fixed by his personnel soon after they were reported. The fourth was fixed by the plumber I was using for my other work. He charged $200 to uninstall, fix, and reinstall the toilet. The charge by Carpet Decor for the same work was $350. It seems prices for this type of work are very high and there is no guarantee that the worker is licensed or professional. I reported this plumbing work to the owner and he refunded $200 to me for the plumbing. I would not use this company again. The work does look good but I am not satisfied with what happened. I don't think any of the issues should have occurred.
