Blue Mount Nursery is a small business located in Loudoun County VA. Our mission is to have the knowledge to help our customers to the best of our ability and offer the best customer service we are capable of. Blue Mount Nursery carries items ranging from plant material; shrubs, flowers, and trees to gift goods; all seasons including St. Patrick Day, organic and green products, as well as pond items; fish, plants, pumps, and chemicals, and much more.

I recently purchased a topiary from Blue Mount that I was assured by staff would be low-maintenance and durable. The plant had a small brown spot when I purchased it, but they said it was nothing to worry about. Within days of planting, the topiary began to die. I called Blue Mount on numerous occasions requesting advice on how to care for my dying shrub. They were less than helpful in providing guidance, but I eventually gathered that the plant needed a specialized daily watering schedule and a special pesticide.
Even after closely following all instructions, nothing saved the plant. Having given it all I could for about a month, I brought the plant back to the nursery hoping for a refund. They refused a refund, only offering a 50% plant replacement credit?for the same plant. I explained that having had issues with this type of plant, I didn?t want to spend more money to go through the same hassle. They refused to listen to me, even when I asked if the credit could instead be for annuals or some other plant. The
manager didn?t offer any compromise, and insisted there was nothing they could do for me.
Though I wanted to support local business, I just can?t justify throwing money away at this nursery. Next time, I will just buy my
shrubs from Lowes or Home Depot (they offer a full refund for a year after purchase, regardless of why the plant dies).
