I moved all the furniture on the main floor of my home, removed all the outlet covers, and took down all drapes and associated hardware in preparation for the job. I took a day off work for the painting to be done, but A&G Contractors never showed up. My appointment was for 9am, and I called the office at 10am to ask where they were. The secretary called me back and said their van had broken down in Chantilly and they weren't sure they could come. I asked her why they hadn't called me to let me know, and she said they had to find a phone to even call her (an obvious lie considering they have cell phones and she was clearly able to contact them at a moment's notice). I felt sure they had just accidentally double-booked the morning, but instead of telling me the truth, they lied to me. The secretary said they should have their van running by 2pm, and they would be at my house by 3pm to do the painting. Because I had already taken the day off, I opted to wait and trust they would show up after the other job finished that I'm sure they completed instead of mine. I waited the remainder of the day, but they never showed up or even called me again. I called the office at 4pm, 571-230-3186, but my call went to voicemail. I called the owner (Gustavo M.) on his cell phone, 571-258-7294, but again I was left for voicemail. I left a message saying how disappointed I was that they would lie to a customer and then not even have the integrity to call me, but I never heard a word in return. A&G Contractors have signs on the roadsides in Ashburn VA that read "Painting $99 a room" with a picture of a man with a paintbrush on it. I hope no one has to suffer through the inconvenience, unprofessionalism and deception that this company put me through, and all I have to show for it is a home that's torn apart for no reason and a thorough lack of trust.
Description of Work: I received an estimate for interior painting in my home at the beginning of April, and made an appointment for painting on the 26th. I was to have my two-story foyer, living room, family room, kitchen, and sunroom painted. They told me which paint to buy, and I purchased it in advance.
