They came when promised. It took forever (5-6 hrs.?) to install ... and when they were done the signal was "marginal" to "weak" in the house. Phone calls and TV channels were being dropped; it was terribly frustrating; a big step backwards from what we'd experienced before. So I called. Had to argue with the rep about how I was not feeling the "FIOS experience" to get them to come back out and put the router INSIDE instead of outside in our garage. It was a Saturday night. The rep promised to have someone call me on Monday. No one called. On Wednesday I called (by the way, you're lucky to get to a human being) ... waited on the line for 15-20 minutes ... call gets dropped. Happens a SECOND time. Finally I get to someone who wants to be a professional comedian (he WAS funny!) and tells me that they'll get someone out the next day (Thursday). I wait half a day. No one shows. No one calls. No one texts. I call & get the usual delays and scripted "apologies" and the promise that they'll come out on Friday. They finally come. It takes all of 3 minutes to put the router where it should have been in the 1st place. Signal strength is great!! But it took a week. In the meantime, I realized I was not getting a free movie channel promised by Verizon when I signed up. I spent some time on the phone with a rep who told me there was no record of that promise (I signed up on an online chat) & that it was not a current offer. "Fine," I said ... evenly. "Just check the box somewhere that says this customer feels he was promised a channel that he did not get." He suddenly changes & says he can work something out ... gives me the free channel for a year. Thanks, Verizon. The Customer Svc. is just plain bizarre ... uneven ... unprofessional. But I AM saving a lot of money compared to Comcast. For two years. And then what???
Description of Work: After 24 years, I switched from Comcast (way too expensive) to Verizon FIOS. Had to install new fiber optic system and router.

The install was free as it was a deal going on. The gentleman that came out was punctual, intelligent, courteous, helpful, and very knowledgable. I'm a systems/network admin so I watched him very closely and was very pleased with the results.
