Nightmare experience (September 2019): I’m going to simply state the facts as to stay objective as possible. These movers arrived late the day of without any call to let us know their eta. Within 1 hour of starting, they called to complain to their supervisor about a lot of boxes (boxes, not unpacked stuff). Refused to move box springs up the stairs after minimal effort because it was too tight of a corner (we later got the box springs upstairs ourselves with no problem). Complained throughout the day despite us buying them lunch and providing them with food and water throughout the day. At 10PM they requested to finish the job the next day and we said okay but when they showed up the next day they demanded more money and threatened to leave with our furniture if we didn’t pay it. After calling the police to mediate the situation, we ultimately agreed to pay the extra amount they requested. At that point they decided they didn’t want to finish the job despite giving them the exact amount they requested. Overall, this company is the most unprofessional and unreliable company in the area. They have a couple good reviews from small apartment moves but if you have anything more than a one bedroom, this is the experience you’ll likely be getting. Their quote will be low, but it means nothing since they’ll ask for significantly more otherwise they’ll take your furniture. Hope this review is helpful to other prospective customers!

Phoenix movers did an excellent job on my move, including navigating my piano down some tricky stairs. They were very careful not to damage my belongings and were very professional in doing so. Everything was protected with plastic wrap and/or moving blankets so nothing was scratched. I am very pleased with their quality of work and would not hesitate to call them in the future.

We booked an in-city move with Phoenix Movers based upon some positive reviews on Yelp, and a lack of negative reviews at the BBB.
The movers themselves showed up approximately an hour and a half late, and they continued to move slowly throughout the move.  With three movers it took four and a half hours to pack the truck for a one bedroom apartment.  Two of the movers actually criticized the third mover for moving too quickly.
They were far from careful when moving property into our home, scratching (and in one place gouging) our hardwood floors and marring our walls.
They indicated that would be unable to move some larger pieces of furniture through a narrow stairway (so they left the pieces in the front room).  However, after they left, my girlfriend and I were able to move the pieces through the stairway in question.
Prior to the move we were given an estimate, suggesting that the move would take approximately 3 hours and cost around $400.  After more than 6 hours and $850, I told them to simply unload the last of the boxes from the truck and stop the clock.
On the plus side, none of our personal property was damaged (apart from one piece of pottery) and one of the three movers seemed genuinely professional and conscientious.

Phoenix Movers made my move as pain-free as possible and I would recommend them. From the beginning when I first called to get an estimate, they were up front about all fees and did not add any hidden fees at the end.  They were also very responsive when I called back or emailed with additional questions.  On the day of the move, they were right on time (first time that's happened for me with movers) and the guys were friendly and professional and worked fast, despite the fact it was nearly 100 degrees that day.  They wrapped all my furniture for free, which was a nice bonus, and nothing was damaged. I would say their fees are about mid-range for the area.

I think the movers basically did a good job. They did damage some furniture but worked with us to determine the amount and reimbursed us. They were on time and courteous. I had used them before which is why I called them back for this job.
