Upon plans for us to move our office, we contacted company at recommendation of a personal friend of techinfusion (not profssional). We needed phones transferred and, eventually a server to replace out peer-to-peer network. We knew/no nothing about these items and services. We did not ask for any estimate because he seemed competent and we needed the services he provided. It turns out Verizon could not give us broadband service at new location. techinfusion did not know that and for almost a week we were without internet. With his recommendation we changed phones from land line to VOIP. It was a disaster: We can't know if anyone is on a line, a large delay from connect to answer, drops in service. Other problems too. We purchased a server, a back-up battery, etc. and many upgrades to our PCs. Constant problems and very poor response from him. For example, after a while he never responded to phone or fax requests for urgent maintenance (like no faxes comming they, unplanned shutoff of phones, etc. ). We probably lost seven business days of phone/fax/or internet service. My recommendation was to stop him as problems mounted but staff wanted to give him a chance to get it right. We gave him multiple chances. Work on about seven phones and server started about mid-Sept 2008 and by end of January it still wasn't working. We paid all his invoices although they were a combination of made-up services, repairs of installations he initiated, and hourly rates based on fractions of an hour. We have now a server meant for a large business, a lot of extra software, complicated issues we cannot solve ourselves, and problems with operation. We were forced to stop his work cold and hire another service provider to fix all problems techinfusion caused.
Description of Work: we asked him to install phone system and server network for small 7-person company.
