I wrote a review of Sterling for Angie's list many years ago, but my high opinion of them remains unchanged. Not only do Tom, Chuck, and their staff do a careful and beautiful job with each framing project, but they spend plenty of time with you, offering recommendations to help you make just the right choices. Everyone there is helpful and professional, and I've been touched that they even remember some of my past framing projects when they greet me. The Sterling folks have helped me out, too, by cleaning and reframing a picture, or repairing a frame if that is all I need. The shop also sells lovely frames, artwork, and jewelry. Absolutely worth every penny spent!

The staff is always friendly and the quality of work is always great.

I bought a print overseas and had to have it custom framed since it didn't fit any standard US frames.  They listened to my ideas for the colors and showed my options as well as some of their suggestions (their ideas were better than mine).  They asked if I wanted it in time for Christmas - I said it would be nice, but it could wait until after.  I received a call on the last day they were open (12/23) that it was finished.
I rarely have things framed so I don't know what the going rate is.  Maybe $170 is a good price, but I had sticker shock so I chose 'average.'

For one of the pictures, I wished there would have been more of a selection of colors, but I found something that worked. I took them in on 12/18/07 and got them back on 1/14/08, but this was because they were closed for part of the holidays. They did inform me of the longer wait. They finished the projects within the time they said. I would use them again in the future and would recommend to others.

Run away. Run far away. Sure, they're nice enough and if you know EXACTLY what you want, they do as well as any run of the mill strip mall for framing. But I brought them something for which I needed advice and help. And when I got it back, it looked terrible. Absolutely terrible, which is a real disappointment given the amount of money one spends for framing these days. I drove a fair distance to this place based on the previous reviews and wish I hadn't.

Tom was patient and creative. He suggested a great frame and matting. When I picked it up (on time), the spoon had been carefully cleaned, without my asking. Even the back panel is good-looking. Yes, it can be loosened and then opened to access the spoon. The artistic penmanship for the titles is well done. In the future I will look at more of their material choices, as I discovered I liked the expensive ones...pricey.

Karen was friendly and very helpful with the selection of mat colors and frame styles. This wasn't cheap, but price was comparable to other framing jobs I've had done in other parts of the country. I have always felt that professional framing is over-priced! Item was ready before promised date.

I can't wait to go back! Their advice was perfect and a much improved result was achieved than had we gone with my own instincts. Charming shop, unhurried attention, superior work! Everyone there has an art background so their experience and their since of the aesthetic are exceptional.

Not only do the craftspeople in the shop do a beautiful framing job, but they are friendly and truly take the time to work with you on what will look best. I find the pricing competitive given the extra attention they give and the care they take with your not-yet-framed item. They are also relatively fast, and once turned something around in only a couple of days for me when the situation demanded fast service.

I HAVE USED THIS SHOP FAITHFULLY FOR ABOUT FIVE YEARS. EVERYTHING THEY HAVE FRAMED FOR ME HAS BEEN BEAUTIFUL. IT'S A SMALL SHOP, SO EVERYONE WORKING THERE KNOWS YOU IF YOU'VE BEEN IN MORE THAN ONCE, WHICH I APPRECIATE. THEY HAVE A LARGE RANGE OF FRAME AND MAT OPTIONS IN ALL PRICE RANGES. ALL OF THE EMPLOYEES HAVE A GREAT EYE FOR FRAMES AND MATS, SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE ANYTHING SPECIFIC IN MIND WHEN YOU GO IN.
