For good leather repair work we go to Sam Torrey's.  The work is always high quality and reasonable in cost.  This most recent time it was repairing a belt that had been damaged.  Looked great!

When I called them to find out how much it would cost and how long it would take the to fix my boots, I was told exactly how much it would cost and that it would take a week to perform the service. Dropping the boots off a week and a half later, the clerk at the desk informed me that the shop was currently so busy that it would more likely take up to two weeks. I stopped to see if my boots were ready a day before they were promised--they were, and I and was able to pick them up. I couldn't be happier with the communication, price, and quality of the shop's workmanship. It was well worth the 2 week wait. I will definitely go back to Sam Torrey's Shoe Repair for and recommend them highly.

The service personnel were very professional and attentive, both at drop off and pick up. The got the work done quickly and, given the state of the items, I thought their charges were reasonable.

I started using Sam Torry shoe service in the late 1970s when the current owner's father ran the place and the present owner was learning the trade (and the shop still has not changed an iota). You can get basic shoe repairs done anywhere (inlcluding here) -- but, when you have a real problem or you want to save an old pair of shoes that you love, take it to Sam Torrey's. He has repaired leather shoes, hiking boots, a 35 year old canvas backpack (on numerous occasions), suitcases (leather and other materials), belts and boots for us. The work is never anything except first rate -- and if the repair is unlikely to meet your expections, he tells you about the problems in advance so you will not be disappointed with the outcome. The prices (which you pay in advance) are at the higher end of comparable shops but this is really a case where you get what you pay for. Do not take anything for repair that you need in 48 hours (or usually even the same week) -- the place is always too busy for a quick turnaround.

The shoes were a perfect match and looked great. I am very satisfied with the work.

I have used this company for many years. Reliable and professional. Only catch was they asked me to pay up front. I knew their quality and reputation, so it wasn't an issue for me.

They did a great job. They let me know how much it was going to cost and that's what I paid. They were professional and personable. They got it done quickly and my shoes were ready on time.

I thought the price was a little expensive but the quality was excellent.

The new soles look and work great and were ready when promised. I'm taking in the rest of my shoes to get re-soled as well.

The shop keeper was cautious before telling me that he could repair the suitcase. He gave an estimate before finding out that in fact the company no longer provides him with free replacement handles. When he discovered that the cost of the handle uninstalled was $50, he hesitated to charge me more than the estimate, saying that he tries to be fair to the customer. As always, they do professional quality work, and don't hesitate to say when they don't think the item is worth repairing.

The work was done very well, some straps were reinforced as well, and the shoes were polished at no charge.

I dropped the items off on a Saturday morning, and they took note of all of the things that I needed fixed on each item. I picked them up the following Saturday (right on time), and not only were all items repaired to my satisfaction, each had been cleaned up and almost looked like new. I have already brought them additional shoes for repair, and recommended them several times.

I only had a few minutes before a doctor's appointment next door. The owner immediately stopped what he was doing to make copies of my house key. It was very efficient - and fit my lock exactly, which isn't always the case when a new key is made.

Several other shoe or luggage repair shops I took the bag to declined to do this work, telling me it was too time-consuming and would be less expensive to replace the bag, which I did not want to do, as it had sentimental value to my son. Sam Torrey's owner gladly accepted the work, and told me only new slides were needed, not a new zipper. The work was completed to my complete satisfaction in just one week.

The owner asked when I needed the shoes. I told him I'd like them finished today. He accommodated. When I came to pick them up, he explained what his staff had done and handed me a product that was cleaned, reconditioned and polished. Outstanding service at a very reasonable price.
