RED TOP CAB

Concierge called cab for me. When cab arrived driver got out put my bag in trunk & asked if “black girl at desk from the building had called for my cab & I replied yes. Driver asked where are we going & I named my destination & showed driver. address on my phone gps ap. He then asked if I wasn’t going to airport & I said no. He & dispatcher talked for several minutes & I told driver the name on his gps. It was decided that driver had picked up the wrong driver & got out of car with my belongings. Driver opened trunk from his seat so I could retrieve my bag. I walked back to my original place & same cab returns opens the passenger window & tells me it is ok he can take me. He is still talking to dispatcher & asked me againsbput who called for the cab, etc. when we arrived at area of my destination, he stopped in the back of building & I had to tell him I had to go in by the main entranc which is the one open to the public & is the address I originally gave him. He did go the entrance & I got out. Driver asked where I was from & spoke several words in my native language. He asked why I didn’t speak to him in that language. There was no name or photo on the car dashboard so I cannot send comment to the company. This is why Lyft & Uber are in business.

There was the slightest hiccup with respect to time (just a couple of minutes late) but nothing major. The fact that our departure time was extremely early in the a.m. made it a tad nerve wracking for us but it all worked out perfectly.

I called and requested a taxi in 30 minutes and they showed up 5 minutes early. The taxi was clean and the driver was friendly.

Cab arrived promptly at scheduled time, and service met expectations.

Texted ETA, punctual, courteous. Red Top and Springfield Yellow Cab have merged.

He arrived on time, drove safely, and was open to a route change to my office to pick up an umbrella given the rain. I haven't had a lot of luck with cabs, so this was great.

I've used Red Top for awhile. I find them prompt, which is good because I usually fly out in the early morning. This is, of course, a requirement that is imperative. Their drivers aref ine, but don't nornmally posess that sense of customrr service that is nice in a driver. I use them, though and will continue because I live in Arlington and they are an Arlington company

On two different occasions (a Tuesday and a Thursday) I phoned for taxi pickup. In one case I phoned a day ahead of time for 5PM pickup; in the other case I phoned requesting immediate pickup at around 4:30PM. In both cases, Red Top arrived as scheduled. Their automated system texted my mobile phone with car number and dispatch time, very reassuring. Drivers were knowledgeable about getting to DCA airport from NW DC location. I was able to pay and tip by swiping my debit card through their onboard system. The Tuesday 5PM driver faced thicker traffic and detoured around Canal Rd via Georgetown. The Thursday driver, leaving a little earlier, faced lighter traffic and just sailed Foxhall to Canal to Key Bridge through Rosslyn then GW Parkway to the airport.

I made the arrangement a few days before and had to change the time due to a cancelled flight. Operators were helpful and cheerful The driver was early, loaded and unloaded my heavy suitcase, took an efficient route to the airport and was cheerful. An excellent experience. It is so nice to have cheerful service people.

The cab was at my house for pickup 10 minutes early and quietly waiting. The cab driver was also friendly, courteous and professional. He impressed me as an experienced, mature and safe driver. He went directly to my destination by the fastest route, and did not play any games with traffic laws, safety, or with the route. The charge was approximately what I had expected. I arrived at my destination on time, safely, and relaxed. Hard to argue with that.

I recommend Red Top Cab. I can share that it took multiple phone calls for my call to be answered. I'm unsure if this is because they only have one employee answering calls, are very busy, or both. I made our reservation one day in advance of our travel date. Our pick up time was 2:30 and we received a text message indicating the car was dispatched around 2:10. This was comforting and a nice feature. The car arrived on time. Others have noted the outdated cars, and I would recommend an update to the fleet, but that is an observation, not a complaint. I do question the route the driver took; it's not the way my husband or I would have gone. Perhaps it was in an effort to avoid possible traffic on 66, but we were already on 66 and smooth sailing, so I'm not sure why we got off the highway. That was really the only negative to the entire experience and doesn't factor into my rating. For the purposes of this review, the service was reliable and I plan to use Red Top Cab for my travel to the airport next month.

they have a ride charge program that is nice. You can text with your address to get a cab. Works most of the time, sometimes it has bugs. We can get a "confirmed" ride an hour after we get out of the car.

I called the evening before and scheduled a morning pickup to the airport. I received a text message when the taxi was dispatched and a then a phone call when he pulled up. He was kind and courteous and professional, took the route I requested, and we had a good conversation during the 25 minute drive.

I have had hit and miss experiences with hiring taxi service from my residence in Alexandria to Reagan National airport. I was flying out on Thanksgiving day and the night before, I decided to use Angie's List to locate a taxi company. I selected Red Top Cab and called and made a reservation less than 24 hours before my trip on Thanksgiving day. The woman that answered my call and scheduled my transportation was polite and professional. I told her my pick up time, 7:00 a.m. She assured me that the taxi would be at my home at 7:00 a.m. You might imagine my sense of trepidation of having the taxi arrive on time. I formalized back up plans just in case. However, at 6:45 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning, Red Top Cab was waiting outside my house. The driver politely waited and did not come to the door before the scheduled time. For once, I was ready early and when I saw him outside, I met him at the taxi. He was very courteous and professional. The taxi was immaculate and accepted credit cards. The trip cost approximately $25. I elected to include a $5 tip and was happy to do so. I could not have been more pleased with the service provided by Red Top Cab. I will use them again!

Call for a cab and cross your fingers. They always say that a cab will arrive withn 20 mins, but they may never arrive at all. One time I called for a cab at night - about 10:00 pm - and they never showed up. We found another way to get there. Another time I called them and they didn't show up and I called back. When he got there he told me he was on the wrong street waiting for me. Another time I called back about three times. He finally showed up and took a way to DC that I didn't know and it took forever. I was vary late. Another time, the driver was new and he got lost between Arlington and Union Station. I have finally given up and will never use them again.

The company's professionalism is apparent from the first phone call to one of their dispatchers. They answer the phone promptly, they are courteous and friendly, and they will give you an estimate of the price of the trip if you ask. I always call well in advance (usually the day before), and the driver has always been at my door slightly ahead of time or just on time. All the drivers I have ridden with are friendly and professional. I won't use any company other than Red Top from now on.
