I had a bad experience with them. With a coupe on they could have looked at it for nothing, but they did not tell me this. They charged me for it. They did not call me when they said they would call me so that I could pick it up. It took longer than what they said it would take. When I went to pick up the hard drive they offered me other services. They were not forthcoming about the fact that they could not restore the hard drive. I would suggest others not to go to Oncall 25/8and waster your money.

On Call 25-8 is NOT on call to talk to you or care about you. If you have a problem and call them, they give you an appointment two to three days later. It does nothing for you at the moment, as the name of the company implies and they do not troubleshoot over the phone. Once, when I called 25-8, they were completely unhelpful and didn't care so I had to call the Best Buy GEEK squad and got FREE advice that fixed our problem immediately both times I tried 25-8. When 25-8 does call back another appointment is often needed. Steve is very professional but the rest of the crew is condescending and incompetent. Issue: I had a wireless non functioning and needed to also discuss hard wiring the upstairs. Steve called back a couple of days later and we set up the appointment (now why can't we set up an appointment the first time I call???). Ryan came by, sent by Steve, and did nothing. I was not there but I spoke with him by phone and he said he needed to take my computer away. Nothing doing, I said. I have an extra wireless tower and will plug that in and see if it works when I get home. Ryan continued to insist he had to take the computer away. I refused and the poor guy acted shocked shocked! Imagine that! A client refusing the recommended treatment... Then I wanted to discuss the hard wiring I had spoken to Steve about. Xray there, too. Ryan would only entertain a wireless system which was NOT WORKING... hellooooo? So I sent Ryan home; e-mail not functional and no discussion of a hard wire project (that means no new business for 25-8) because hard headed Ryan wouldn't LISTEN. When I complained to Miguel, who was manning the phones; he was just as unprofessional and condescending. Steve meanwhile was on vacation, unaware his two buddies had just insulted a client who had PAID IN ADVANCE for service she was not getting. But hey! client wouldn't let us take the computer home, so what's a geek to do? Sigh...when I got home, I found the extra wireless antenna, uninstalled the utility software and re-installed it and then I noticed an Ethernet cord was plugged into the PC system (no, Ryan didn't do that... probably my caregiver, let's be fair...the problem was already there when Ryan arrived so he couldn't have done it). I unplugged it (my PC WAS wireless after all, it did not need an Ethernet cord) and TADA everything worked fine again. So no, on call 25-8 is NOT on call 25-8 and sorry Steve, but your crew is incompetent and unprofessional. Oh and Verizon FIOS can hard wire my house they're coming next week.

Three of my Laptops where having issues, my two Son's Gateway computers each had a power jack problem, and my laptop was having USB port issues. On Call 258 came to my house, picked up the laptops and took them back to their shop for diagnosis. There were able to fix the power jack issues, and estimated the cost to fix the USB ports. I decided not to have the USB ports fixed because the cost was more than I wanted to spend to fix the old laptop, they brought all the laptops back in great condition, I would definitely use them again! Very Convenient, and very professional.

They came out quickly and diagnosed the problem fairly quickly. After that, things fell apart. The customer service on the phone was non existent. Generally I was made to wait and feel stupid about my ignorance concerning technical information. I was told that 99% of the information in my computer was still there. In fact, the data loss is closer to 40 or 50%. While the loss was certainly not their fault, I was led to believe that I was doing something wrong in not being able to access the information that was clearly there. I finally got a tech person on the phone who, through some miracle of modern technology, could read whatever screen I was on on my desk top. When corrupted files came up unreadable, he allowed that there could be "a few" corrupted files. I had to call repeatedly to get any response, they seemed overextended and unhelpful, and I was treated as though I was creating problems rather than as a valued customer who'd just shelled out $750! I would not use them again.

They seem to be a small 2 or 3 person operation and very techy, not very professional. They did recover some data from our drive and copied it to an external hard drive we provided. They went over their estimate with our permission and did not leave us with a good feeling.
