Job was done quickly, efficiently and at modest cost. Much less than charged by much larger multi-line electrical contracting company.

I've used Mark several times on small electrical jobs in my home in Arlington.  On every occasion he provided great service at very reasonable prices.  He is is very quick to reply which was critical as the problem we had was blowing fuses and preventing us from using lights in our old Arlington home.  Mark is very professional and honest which is hard to find these days.  He took the time to ask what we wanted and then explained what our options were.  We will definitely use him again and highly recommend him to our friends and neighbors.

Mr. Young did a phenomenal job with the light fixture in my condo. He was exceptionally professional, nice, courteous and got the job done in under an hour. He arrived promptly for the appointment--even a few minutes early-- and was very responsive to my emails leading up to the appointment. When I need an electrician in the future,  I will almost certainly call Mark, and will recommend him to friends.

It went well. He came out to give an estimate and said he could do the job right then. It was quick and the job was done well and he even charged me less than his original estimate!

I had several items to fix as a result of a home inspection, and Mr. Young did a great job at a very reasonable price.  I wholeheartedly recommend him.

Mark arrived on time or, on one occassion when another job ran slightly late, called me and then arrived on time for his revised estimate.  He is concerned about doing the job right and to code.  For example, a ceiling fan should be installed in a supporting electrical box and not simply with wires used to support a lamp.  He pays attention to detail and asks for customer preferences.  I would have been fine if Mark just installed the ceiling fan as is but appreciated that he noticed that the grain of some of the fan blades were different than others and asked me if I wanted to pick which sides of each blade would be visible.  Similarly, one ceiling light I asked him to install was on a chain and he asked whether I liked it at the existing length or wanted it adjusted.  I'd not expected to make those choices, but am glad that Mark raised those options.  Mark is able to troubleshoot on the spot.  For example, one of the ceiling lights he installed was an antique and was missing a part needed to connect it to the ceiling.  Mark knew exactly what was needed and located it quickly at a local hardware store.  Similarly, the mounting for the ceiling fan that I was replacing had been attached to the rafters during construction, prior to drywall and thus was recessed into the drywalled ceiling.  Mark rebuilt the box connection so that the fan mount would be flush to the ceiling.

Mark was able to come in the morning, and said he'd made his day available.  He looked over the job, and did it well.  He didn't even have to turn off my power, so I could work from home.  He let me know more work was needed than I'd expected, but I trust he was telling the truth.  He made several trips to get supplies and worked all day to get it right.  When he had to buy more than he expected, he could have told me he was added $100 and I would never have known the difference, but he said it was just $15 because he'd bought thicker Aluminum rather than standard copper to get the same result for $15.

Mr. Young was methodical, careful and sensitive to my interests and concerns.  He did a great job; price was very reasonable for work performed.  I would use him again.

We stumbled upon Mark somewhat by accident while searching for a good electrician on the internet.  We ended up going with him based on nothing more than a feeling and are thrilled that we did.  
Throughout the process he was a partner and resource.  Whether it was getting his advice on where to place the recessed lighting, the best lightbulbs and dimmers, or the most cost effective approach, he was with us every step of the way and it always seemed that he had our best interest in mind.  
The quality of his work was impeccable.  He was exacting and precise when it came to where to drill holes for access, his measurement of various things, etc.  He was just as meticulous when it came to patching up the holes and cleaning up the worksite at the end of the day.  He handled getting the permits and generally went about getting the job done without any fuss or issue.
Perhaps the most surprising thing is that he did all of this work at such a high standard for such a great price.  We had received an estimate for the recessed lighting from a local electrical company and their per unit price was more than double Mark's rate.  He was upfront about all charges, his invoice was clear, and he passed through materials/permitting costs at-cost.
Overall, it was an excellent experience, we will definitely use Mark again, and we recommend him without hesitation.

Mark Young has done a variety of electrical projects for us - installed additional outlets in our kitchen, fixed problems with the electrical panel, installed automatic timers for outside house lights, installed new fixtures, etc.  We live in an old house and before hiring Mark we got estimates from other electricians.  In each case they told us about all of the damage that we would incur in an older house (ie, cutting into dry wall etc).  We hired Mark based on recommendations from friends and Mark was able to do all the work without any additional damage.  In the few instances where he had to cut through dry wall, he repaired it with no visible signs.  Moreover, he is extremely creative in working on electrical issues in older homes and finds solutions to almost any problem.  In one instance he had to rewire an outlet that took him many more hours than anticipated.  He worked diligently until the work was done (he left at almost 8pm) and charged us a very reasonable (and not hourly) amount.  He also makes sure that any necessary electrical permits are taken out and does not sidestep this issue like many other companies.  I would definitely recommend Mark.

Mark is the only person I call for any electrical work that I have. He knows the code book backwards and forwards and doesn't cut corners. His work is also top notch and he very affordable. He has helped me out on short notice at least 4 times and is courteous and highly professional.
Previous work that Mark has done for me include: rewired kitchen during remodel; installed recessed lighting in living room (because I had access from an open celing during the kitchen remodel, Mark was able to install the lights without creating a single repair hole in the living room ceiling, which was very impressive to me!); rewired 240v dryer outlet to accept new plug configuration for new dryer (came on a Sunday on less than 24 hours notice); other misc. electrical work.

Overall, Mark was great and we will use him for all of our electric repairs.  I have also recommended him to our neighbors.

Mark Young was very professional.  I needed someone to look at my electrical outlet the same day.  I called Mark and he was available the same day.  Within an hour and a half he was at my house.  His work was quick and efficient.  The price was unbeatable.  I would definitely recommend Mark to friends and family.  I will contact him for future jobs.

I called Mark Young to ask about installing a fan with a light kit in an existing light fixture at my mother's house as a birthday present for her.He gave me an estimate and I called my mom and asked her to contact Mr. Young to schedule a time. My mom said he was meticulous and did a fantastic job.  She was so pleased that she called me that afternoon to say thank you and to tell me that she would recommend him to anyone who needed an electrician!  I appreciate him doing such a great job for my mom.

The work was performed on time and of excellent quality.

As noted above, he had great communication, came out on a weekend (which is rare already), worked efficiently, and was extremely affordable. I couldn't be happier with the experience.
