M&M Painting And Renovations

Mario’s team was efficient and remodeled the semi- finished part of our basement and stained our front porch in less than 2 weeks. They were a friendly, hard working crew. My recommendation is that they should take credit cards or Venmo or PayPal because we had some issues with Zelle/ checks and ended up having to make approximately 6 separate payments throughout the week. Also, giving us a clear schedule of when supplies would be needed and what type of materials / quantities and where to purchase them, in writing in the contract, would be helpful to cut down on the back and forth texts/ phone calls and having to make extra trips to different stores. We were also hit with some surprises when the team team started the renovation and found things weren’t up to code. We ended up paying approximately 40% more than the original quote to have these things fixed. Overall, they got the job done and we were happy with the finished product.

The porch replacement work took longer as originally scheduled. The residence is old stock, consequently the suggested upgrading & improvements, in hindsite were worthwhile. I have recommended M & M Painting to others...recommendations are rare for me. Be warned, across the board, parts & labor have increased, so budget accordingly. Yes, I should use again, quality work.

I never write reviews but in this case I hope it might help others avoid a terrible mistake. M&M had poor planning, shoddy skills, and constant excuses for problems from their work. After getting skilled companies to come and completely redo the work, I was able to use photo evidence to make them pay for most of my out-of-pocket restoration expenses. It is clear M&M has no business being a “bathroom remodeler” in the Angi app, and I have no idea why they have a rating beyond 1 star.

We had M&M refinish our basement due to a sewage spill that tore out about 40% of our finished basement. The crew worked day in and day out to make the basement appear as no damage had ever happened. Painting quality was top notch as was the drywall work and carpeting. They are a team that can literally “do it all” with high quality standards. When something wasn’t right, they came back to make sure I was 100% satisfied. It can be hard to find hard working professionals at a very competitive rate in this area. I’m thankful I found M&M and will be using them again in the future for other remodel jobs we plan.

We hired M&M painting and renovations because we needed to have the exterior of our house painted and the gutters replaced, however, we knew that we had some rotted wood that also needed to be replaced. However, as the team worked on repairing, replacing, and painting the exterior they found much more extensive damage on an addition that the previous owner had added to the house (boards that were so rotted parts of them no longer existed). As a result this became a much larger project. Mario was wonderful about communicating early and often about what they were finding and presenting options for addressing the problems. The crew worked long hours to try and stay on schedule despite ALL of the extra work and the end result is that our house looks great AND is structurally sound.

Mario’s team did a great job replacing an extensive gutter and downspout system in one day. Also replaced the rotten interior framing of a window that suffered water damage. Work looks to be high quality and covered by 1-year guarantee.

Mario and his crew did an excellent job getting a condo ready to go on the market. The bathroom tub needed reglazing, the tiles needed new grout, we needed carpet and paint throughout and new blinds installed. The finished product was great and the condo sold quickly and above asking price

Mario's team not only did a fine job on the painting (entire house interior) but helped diagnose several unrelated house problems, including a very serious basement leak. They were able to make a very quick repair. He was fair and flexible when we asked for some additional work, which included replacing exterior gutters and re-routing them for improved drainage. Experienced, professional, would hire again.

Great! They came when promised. Did the work as instructed and the price was excellent.

Power washing done by outside contractor, trampled my garden, blew out mortar on brick steps and between bricks on patio and walkways. Hired an outside person to fix patio bricks and steps with polymer sand who didn’t know how it worked, resulting in a layer of sand stuck on and covering patio bricks turning them gray. painting of trim around house, paint dripped on bricks, paint on windows, and less than a year later, I find there is bare wood on windowsills. They never removed screens to reach the sills which should have been painted. Overall, the worst job ever! On top of that Mario (owner) whined constantly about how much extra time it was taking (because I demanded they fix things I could see were wrong) He was mostly concerned about the money and wanted to be paid half up front and rest along the way. In all he was paid $9,000.00 or more. Mario did none of the work himself. He showed up occasionally to check on the job but never got dirty himself.

M&M was great - from their responsive customer service to prompt and high quality work. I received an email right away and as I was a bit busy at the time and didn't respond, M&M followed up by email. When I called, Mario answered straight away. It was a Friday, he scheduled the job for the following Momday. I received instructions via email on what I needed to do in terms of supplying paint and clearing out rooms. The crew of three showed up bright and early Monday morning, were courteous and professional, and got straight to work. They covered the floors from the front door up the stairs and through out to space being painted. They did the job quickly, thoroughly and beautifully. And with the bid deal, it was nearly a third what we had paid for previous jobs. I was very pleased and highly recommend them.

Mario and crew painted the exterior of my two-story end row house. They gave a competitive price and schedule. They came as planned and did the work in two days. They did a great job and were very neat and clean. The house looks great! My neighbors all said our newly painted house is the highlight of the neighborhood.

They were efficient and knowledgeable. Mario explained to me everything they were doing - before, during, and after the work. He wanted to make sure I approved, which I appreciate since many contractors will and quot;seal upand quot; the project without showing you because they are hiding poor quality. Separately, I mentioned to Mario that I'm looking to buy a new kitchen sink and he generously offered that he has a contractor account (and discount) with Ferguson. He even spent the afternoon calling Ferguson to make sure they knew I would be coming to the showroom and that they had his code for the discount. I see that another reviewer posted an unfavorable review of Mario's team, but my experience was very positive. Hopefully, more people will post about their experiences to ensure a fair depiction of his work - which I found to be very professional and of good quality.

It was an excellent experience, from the first contact to the end of the job. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

The estimate went fine on Thursday. On Saturday the workers showed up and they could not speak a word of English, luckily I spoke Spanish. The boards they brought in did not match, the workers indicated that they were wrong. We tried to get back in contact with the company. I told them just to repair what was there. The owner called and explained what happened: there was a mismatch. He got quite angry and wanted me to pay more for replacing a larger section of wood. The original estimate was $450, I ended up paying $350. He asked for a deposit, I agreed. He wanted the check made out to him personally. He insisted that I make the checks payable to him instead of his company. He also did not like that I wrote down his business license number down in the left hand corner of the check. He went from offering me no warranty to just a three month warranty. He told me he was in the process of incorporating his business. He called me back five minutes later asking me if I was satisfied with the work. He emailed me the warranty, it was like a rambling letter that covered a bunch of other things, which I did not reply to. He could not immediately produce copies of contracts or warranties. He never emailed me anything else other than the three month warranty.
