After a frantic search for movers at the last minute, I was able to secure an end-of-the-month-weekend reservation with Made Movers. My initial contact with Joseph over the phone to secure the appointment was confirmed with an email communication. I was pleased with the quoted per hour rate, frankly speaking, was expecting sub-par service due to the low price. ON THE CONTRARY! On the day of the move, the guys (2) arrived about 45 minutes past the agreed time. HOWEVER, this was not an inconvenience for me since I had made arrangements with my apartment. In addition, they were in constant communication with me: notified me that they were running late with another customer, provided with an ETA that was accurate. I appreciated how respectful and professional their approach was to me and my places of residence (both the apartment and new home). I was impressed with their efficient and deliberate way of getting the work done. They get extra stars for being careful with my newly painted walls!! For an amazing rate, I got amazing service - it's a rare thing! Thanks

very tough review to write, I like the owner, I used them originally to move a sofa from one place there was a slight issue in the move in, but because they moved it in, I chose them to move it out. The building I lived in, for the most part you have to move the sofa up and downstairs. This was not a new leather sofa but it was a nice one. The sofa was badly scuffed in the back and also when you bring out the reclining parts of it. The door going out of where we lived and coming it was a tight fit. The question that I cannot answer is whether this would have happened with another company. I own a small business and know how important word of mouth and references are. But we moved alot of the smaller stuff, this was not a big move.
I thought along time about writing this, but I am not happy, There also was a cheap night stand that the wheel got busted and I had to dump it. I f I could give it a C- I would, very very disappointed..

Excellent! My initial contact with Joe of Made Movers proved that communication was one their strengths. That was followed by actions that proved that careful moving was also an expertise.
They arrive a bit later than planned, but this was due to traffic and I was kept informed of this by phone and text. The moved went very well. I went from a single story house in one city to a 3 level townhouse in another city. The Townhouse was recently renovated and painted, so I was concerned about it.
Incredibly, not a single scratch or smudge on the walls, wood floors, or stair railings. Neither was any furniture damaged nor was anything broken in the boxes I had packed - inclusive of glass items. I was very pleased - and there were some fairly large pieces going all the way to the 3rd floor. I think one of the reasons was that they took the time in advance to wrap the large pieces in protective moving blankets which protected both furniture and house.
I highly recommend them without qualification!

They were intelligent, sensitive to our instructions, and careful with
all items. In addition, they got right down to the job. They brought
the right size of truck too. We couldn't have asked for a better
experience, AND they took the job with one day's notice. We will definitely use them again.

The move went great and no items were damaged or misplaced. The team of two worked really hard and were really professional. I would recommend them to anyone.
I found them on Craigslist but saw that they had some strong ratings and the owner was very responsive. Finally, the price was great for the amount of work provided.

I had communicated over the phone and email and Joe was very helpful in figuring out the size of the truck we needed and the number of movers. The only snafu was that Joe forgot that he was moving us that day. I know that sounds bad, but he still showed up as promised and moved us no problem once I called to see why they were late. The move went incredibly smoothly and Joe and his workers were incredibly competent and efficient -- very professional. They even were sweet with my two children and not frightened by my big dog. Despite the scheduling issue, I can't recommend them highly enough. They were super professional, but for less than 50% of what other movers charge -- seriously. Add the Angie's List discount and you won't believe what a good deal you are getting. Just make sure you confirm your move ahead of time, and know that you are saving a bundle without sacrificing quality. And tip generously, of course.
