Javier Del Castillo is the best. We initially hired him to replace the shut-off valves under the kitchen sink. Once he was here to discuss the project we added the sink/faucet and toilet replacement projects. What I appreciate so much about Javier is that he helps choose the fixtures. I knew what kind of faucets I wanted but I didn't know anything about sinks. He emailed me details on several sinks, in a range of prices and I chose from that list. He and I also exchanged information on various on-line suppliers and we got the best prices on the fixtures and materials. (Yes that $800 toilet can be bought on-line for $550!). Javier purchased all the fixtures on-line, emailed me copies of the receipts and had everything delivered to HIS shop.
To replace the water shut-off valves in my condo the water suplly must be shut off from a main valve which means shutting off the water to all units in my line. The management office requires 3 days notice and allows only 3 hours for the work (and they charge us $100 to do this). Javier had done this work for others in my building so he was familiar with the process and the time constraints.
The whole project was done over 2 days. Javier cleaned up perfectly when he finished working. He is an absolute pleasure to deal with and to have in your home. A total gentleman and an excellent contractor.
The labor charges are on a flat fee basis. Which is terrific because if a job takes longer than it should because of complications there are no surprises for the customer. (Toilet removal and new install: $255).
Javier Del Castillo is a licensed master plumber but he also does general contracting/handyman projects. We used his services again to install new ceiling lights in the kitchen and dining room.
