 + -1 moreThe house buying process could have not gone any better than it did. We made a very wise choice & avoided lots of bad ones with Howard s help. Howard knows residential real estate in Northern Virginia. He knows the advantages & disadvantages of different locations, housing types, & he knows what prices things are worth. Best of all, Howard was able to really know what my husband & what I wanted in a house. This was critical since I was in living in NC at the time & my husband had an apartment in Arlington & traveled overseas work a lot. We both found Howard to be a very pleasant person to work with & that he truly knew his profession. Howard was essential in us making a wise economic & personal decision in the purchase of this house.
Description of Work: Before moving our family here, we located and purchased a house with Howard Thorkilson's assistance. Because my husband had already moved to Arlington, he showed him houses in my absence. And he showed me houses when I came up from NC every now and then. Howard would show my husband houses I liked and visa versa as well as additional houses. He advised us on making sure that we were preapproved for a loan, so we in the ready position for purchasing a house. We made an offer on one house, but were out bid. I later found another house and made a bid on it. Because my husband was overseas on a long work trip, Howard worked hard to make sure that my husband got a good picture of what the house and the neighborhood were like providing a slide show for him to look at on the computer. Howard setup all the inspections and was there with me for them. He explained how the closing would work and was there for that process as well.
