"These comments are lies. In fact, when Ms. [member name removed] called in she was very unpleasant on the telephone. Not just to me, but to all of my employees. In the initial call to FedLock, [member name removed] hung up on me while I was asking basic questions of her to determine the scope of work. She called back later in the day to schedule the work, and again was unpleasant to one of my employees who tried to work with her to book the service call. When our Technician arrived at her home to perform the work, in March 2014, she launched into an obscenity-laced rant about FedLock, the owner & the employees at FedLock. She demanded to know why she should have to pay for labor to install several new locks at her home. Our Technician politely mentioned that we have to charge for labor. FedLock's Ops Manager, who [member name removed] accused of being rude & nasty, gave [member name removed] a discounted price on labor to try to ease the client's objection to paying for labor. My team tried very hard to appease [member name removed]. In retrospect, we would never take a job like this in the future - - so, in that sense, [member name removed]is correct; we don't want her work. She is abusive & unpleasant & is one of those (fortunately rare) clients who believe that service companies are her personal slaves. My team took good care of this situation & did the right things from start to finish. Our Technician reviewed the scope of work and the pricing with Dow prior to commencing work; [member name removed] approved the work, and the pricing. We granted [member name removed] substantial discounts on the high security keys & the heavy-duty deadbolts. [member name removed] not only approved the work & the pricing in advance, she signed the ticket & paid the total bill with no complaints whatsoever at that time. Thankfully, most of FedLock's clients are professional, pleasant people. We have been in business 25 years. We treat people with respect, professionalism & dignity. We expect the same in return from our clients."
They suggested a time to arrive in the morning that is not busy so they could get right to it if I wanted to wait (they wanted me to open the safe and remove my valuables). They had the safe opened in 30 minutes.
They had to drill a hole in the safe near the combination lock.
I had the key to the tumbler lock.
They had me open the safe door and take out my valuables once they worked the combination with a probe inserted in the hole.
They asked if I wanted to have the safe repaired and and quoted a price. I tild them to repair it.
They called later that day and said the hole was repaired but they could not match the old paint exactly (it is a 25-year-old safe) but if I wished they would spray the safe black and not charge for that. I told them not to bother because the safe was not to be displayed.
The total bill was 80.00, less than the estimate.
Federal workers were friendly, accomodating and helpful. They took the safe out of my car and put it back in when finished.
It was a very good experience.
They were very professional. They had some issue with the locks but they were able to get it all sorted out and rekey them.
